Is Bob Meyerhoff out at Beechwood?

Lots of talk but I don't have anything official.

Anyone?

For what reason? I have heard absolutely nothing that would lend itself to make this remotely true. Please elaborate!

No clue as to IF he will leave but word is that there are quite a few in Ft Mitchell pushing for his removal.

Apparently not a good thing to fall short of 20 wins in the Beechwood baseball community.

Didn't Beechwood have a young team? And I remember the days when Beechwood was an average Class A team, Meyerhoff left that universe behind under his watch.

However, and I am speculating here, I have talked to Coach M a few times and there is no doubt in my mind he rubs some people the wrong way (not me) and many times it isn't too difficult to rub high school administrators the wrong way.

Not sure whether they were that much younger than normal. They've almost always got a fair amount of young kids that play. And he somehow always figures out a way to win with whatever age kids he has. They had a slightly off year. It happens.

I don't know the man at all. I know people that swear by him, but have to say I also know quite a few people that he indeed rubs the wrong way. Hard to argue that's he been incredibly successful during his reign there though.

I haven't heard anything officially, but if it is true - much more to the story than just wins and losses. Sometimes you have to be inside a program to know what is really happening. From what I have heard, let's just say there was a disconnect between Bob and the kids that got wider over the past couple of seasons. Hopefully someone in the know can fill in the blanks and confirm if this is true.

My kids have been around him since they were in coach pitch and he is a great teacher of the game and demands you play correctly. No problem with that!!!!!

My comment was made in jest.

I'm outside Beechwood here, but could there be any connection to the abduction story at all? (I'm not saying that Coach was responsible, just how it couldve been handled on his part)

No. Let's not drag all that into this thread. There is zero connection.

If one of my players put me through that whole mess, I would reconsider my options as well.

Bob Meyerhoff is one of the best coaches in the state and Beechwood would be nuts to let him go. For a 1A school to have as much success as they have had over the years and to sustain it for so long is incredible. Granted I am a bit biased as I played for his summer team when I was younger before moving on to the Colonels but I never learned so much about the game until I started playing for him. All he asks for his players is that they give 100% effort and they show respect, nothing more and nothing less. If you have a question all you need to ask and he is willing to step aside and talk to you about it. He takes time to help each of his players if you are willing to give him that time. His assistants in Dave Baioni and John Morris are wonderful people and also great coaches in their own rights.

For having one bad season, its shocking that there are even rumors of this. If there is a growing gap between the players and the coaches, why is this the case? If thats the issue then the entire team needs to get together and air everything out. Do not involve the parents in this as in my experience they are the reason why many coaches don't last because little johnny isn't getting enough playing time. Some of these kids will soon be entering college and need to assume a little responsibility. For the life of me I have no idea what this could be about. Granted I haven't spoken to Bob since last year but when I did he seemed like the same guy that had coached me about 7 years ago. He loves the game of baseball and teaching kids all that he knows. His practices were some of the most productive ones I've ever been apart of and I learned more in my 2 years with him than I did with any other coach. Its hard for me to collectively grasp what is happening here.

Regardless, I hope Beechwood realizes what kind of caliber coach they have right now in Bob. The man has completely transformed their baseball program and it has been one of the best programs over the last decade. This is absolutely shocking and I only wish him and his staff the best. Hopefully I'll be able to catch Bob during this summer and talk to him about all this.

Two issues:

New principal named recently

Email that Bob apparently composed that made some parents unhappy and was passed around amongst parents.

My guess is nothing changes but should it change the above will factor in to some degree - large or small.

For the record, dude can coach.
