Is Bob Meyerhoff out at Beechwood?

Featured Replies

Clyde good points.

I assume Mr. Zimmerman having been the AD is very familiar with Bob, his demeanor and coaching style.

Nothing like an issue like this to begin your principal ship with IF in fact a decision has to be made.

My kids have been around him since they were in coach pitch and he is a great teacher of the game and demands you play correctly. No problem with that!!!!!

100% agree. Coach Meyerhoff is one of the best coaches around, IMO. Beechwood would be crazy to let him go.

Guru is 100% correct that there are grumblings.

However, indications are that there will not be a change and that seems like the right move to me.

Apparently not a good thing to fall short of 20 wins in the Beechwood baseball community.

Sometimes 20 or even 30 wins are just not enough to keep the indians at bay.

Not knowing anything about whats happening in the BW circle, all I can say is good luck replacing a successful coach like him.

I dont even know him personally, but I have coached against him and I do know that the kids that play for him will run through brick walls for him. He seems to instruct a set way and gets results. It sounds like just too many unknowns to really speculate at the moment.

Sorta like one of those sayings, "you either love him or you hate him":idunno:

This is pretty much what I got today after starting the thread and digging into it only I didn't hear one way or the other on the change.

What I do know is this is news to Coach Meyerhoff.

What is news? People want him out? Or he's staying?

I have heard he was thinking about giving up either his summer team or Beechwood. Most likely it would be the summer team.

Coach Myerhoff has not been informed of this. This is probably wishful thinking by those who think they know more about baseball than coach does.

If there is any disconnect, it would be with this years team. There was no senior leadership. Mix that with 2-3 players and/or parents that think they could run the team better than coach.

Last years team was senior loaded. There were a couple players on that team that would tell you if you don't like it leave.

This is high school baseball. Every player does not get a trophy. Every player does not get to play. Some of these young men/boys will be lost when they graduate. They won't have mommy and daddy there to protect them from the cruel world.

There are parents who do not like their kids to be disciplined. These are the players that have a problem with coach. For me, he can coach me, my kids or grandkids any day of the week.

For the record. He shares an office with the freshman football coach. This is the reason he took his personal belongings with him.

Good day

I didn't mean to be ambiguous. Coachg nailed it in the last post, if Coach M is out it is news to Coach M.

I'm outside Beechwood here, but could there be any connection to the abduction story at all? (I'm not saying that Coach was responsible, just how it couldve been handled on his part)

There was nothing to handle for Coach Myerhoff. It is my understanding no one at BW had any involvement. As VOR said, that can be left out. The bus left for Powell Co. No one with the team had any idea where he was. It is simple, he does not wait for you. Every player knows what time the bus leaves. If you are not there it goes. It does not matter if you are the best player or a sub.

It is the same with your equipment/uniform. If you do not have the proper items to play, you do not play. He would not take a uniform or equipment off of a player to give a starter.

What's the story behind Coach's email? I love a dramatic email! :D

Is the Park Hills Mafia training a new Junior Mafia right up the road at Beechwood?

Myerhoff has been great coach for a long time and parents should get a grip. I never could understand how parents think they can cause a raucous and think its in the best interest of their child.

I just had someone contact me and tell me Meyerhoff is out and the only reason for the delay is the Super is out of town this week.

On the flip side, I had a second person contact me and tell me "a power that be" at Beechwood has spoken with Meyerhoff and told him there is no indication that anything like this (being fired) is going to happen.

In fairness, I consider both sources very credible but they obviously disagree at this point.

Can anyone confirm or deny any of this?

Just proves there are 3 sides to a story, Side A, Side B, and the truth, lol.
