1. Is there a better coach in N. Ky. than Coach Krumps? I am sure there are some with opinions to the contrary but the record speaks for itself.

2. Perhaps CCH is always so highly rated every year because of Coach K. Teams that play great fundamental baseball, have solid deep pitching and know how to do the little things are going to win 20 games every year regardless of talent. IMO CCH is usually rated a little higher than their true talent because they are coached so well.

3. When you get to the regional, you are almost always going to face a hammer. In baseball, a solid team with a top notch pitcher can beat any other team on a given day. Mix in an error or two at the wrong time in a tight game and it is easy for a very good team to lose. This happens in baseball more than any other sport.

And that is all there is to CCH not having the success recently that many would expect. The turf may have some minor impact but I doubt it. It is just baseball. One excellent game by an opposing pitcher. One bad play. One missed opportunity offensively. When the games get that tight, anything can happen. Great season for the blue Colonels and a great win for the red Colonels. Congrats to both.

Great Post Voice of Reason.

I agree.

My only addition.......any team can "schedule" to hit 20 wins a year........CCH has always done it playing pretty high level teams.....

The fact that Krumps has so many wins isn't that impressive to me (most will disagree). I think a lot of people on this site could coach for as long as he has and be close to his win totals with the talent he has received. I agree that there needs to be a change, and I know of a couple people willing to coach the team that would take the team out of regional a lot more frequently than Krumps has. I love Krumps and I loved playing for him, but when it comes to crunch time, he tightens up, plays NOT TO LOSE and doesn't play to his team's advantages. He has one philosophy and sticks by it. Works with some teams, doesn't with other.

There needs to be no change and there wont be any changes. PERIOD

Baseball and all other sports are an extracurricular activity. The guy does a great job in the classroom and is a staple of what we stand for at CCH. Being a baseball coach is important as are all the adults involved with CCH but let's stop and think what is most important. Coach Krumps is a great guy, great teacher and considered state wide to be one of the best coaches in the state.

They lost a baseball game, cmon. Another life lesson.

BTW Krumps is at CCH for as long as he wants to be, a loss in a baseball game will not tarnish his reputation.

Believe it or not, I agree. The guy runs a good program and wins. I don't like the style of ball they play, especially with the talent they have, but year in and year out they are one of the top handful of teams in NKY, and often ranked statewide. And they'll play any team in the area. Baseball is a crazy game, and a one and out tourny the best team doesn't always win, especially in a region as tough as the 9th. You don't win close to 1000 games and Coach for 30 years without doing something right.

* Shutitdown, first of all you need to get a life. When your summer starts at the loss of a high school athletic team that you dislike. Actually sad.

* I am a Cov Cath guy and don't understand where many people think they have the best athletes year in and year out. I am assuming Shutitdown must lead the charge to determine what team has the best players. This years Cov Cath teams strength were the amount of seniors which should help but certainly not be the end all determining factor. Their success in baseball can not be only determined by Regional titles.

* My next point wont be a popular one. Because everyone has a username on this site I am going out on a limb to say I doubt many if any coaches or staff are any of the few active participants on this site. I find it hard to believe that Coach Krumpleman would approve of some of the bantering that goes on here which THEOLDGUY gets sucked into. Not sure of his title but he travels with the team, keeps the book, sits near the bench at all games. He clearly is part of the team. While the info he provides is great there are plenty of avenues to provide this information. This site is not the place for team coaches, players and team staff to join people like SHUTITDOWN whose life is determined by high school sports to go back and forth. This is being addressed.

*Dixie deserved the win, great coach, solid players. Well done.

Way to get sucked in se se. I haven't been to a HS sporting event this year. I just enjoy the banter on here.

Wasn't Coach Listerman a great guy, great teacher and considered state wide to be one of the best coaches in the state?

Are you saying the mafia is going to muzzle TOG? Please don't do that.

I still dont get all the comments I read about "all the talent they have".

This years team had no superstars.

What they had were Seniors who worked their tails off for a few years, that makes a difference. The last superstar they had was Luke Maile.

Since then and way before Luke they are and were just another NKY team. It's this site that somehow determines who is talented and who is not. Again, the comments about "all that talent" cracks me up.

How does one make a comment about all that talent? They saw them in knothole, they know their Dad, Oh they are at CCH they must be good. There were kids starting for CCH this year that would not have started for many NKY teams this. Their fielding and base running blunders recently show that. But thats ok. They are bunch of kids having fun while getting a great education.

Easy, se se, you're still on the JV team. Get warmed up before you start ripping on people. If you think this site determined who has talent and who doesn't, I think we'd see a lot of Kentucky athletes going pro. Unfortunately, it's not. We have opinions just like you do, and if you don't like or respect other people's opinions, no one here is forcing you to log on and read forums.

whats your point?

the answers to all your questions is yes he was a great guy and still is.

Wasn't Coach Listerman a great guy, great teacher and considered state wide to be one of the best coaches in the state?

Wasn't Coach Listerman a great guy - yes

great teacher - yes

considered state wide to be one of the best coaches in the state - yes

(an additional question)

Didn't he prosper at Cov. Cath. for 27 years before moving on to Cov. Holmes - yes

it is obvious

you are clueless, many private messages to me indicate that also, that you are who you are and many think you are a piece of work, lmao. I agree.
