If you are going to blame this solely on the teacher and pat the boy on the back shouldn't he be just as culpable if he knew she was married? Especially if he was 18? I think it's on the teacher because of their authority position. And if it ends her marriage then that's on her too. It doesn't make any sense to blame the marriage on the other guy.

I'm thinking an 18 year old who sleeps with a married teacher thinks he can whip the husband if he had to. Asking for an 18 year who is sleeping with his teacher for logic is already a stretch in my opinion. If the 18 year old is sleeping with the teacher I doubt he is thinking of anything else besides when he can get extra credit again.

There's a differnece in a single man pursuing a married woman and a teenage high school student being involved with a teacher. I never said I would applaud my son for pursuing his teacher. What is your point. Is the teacher in question your wife. Did the kid get beat down. In either question, my heart goes out. But at the end of the day, if my high school aged boy gets with his teacher, you know the rest.

No, I just can't fathom how a parent could ever be okay with their (even adult) child contributing to the breakup of a family to the point that they would congratulate them for it.

Whether its watching their mother carted off to jail or the destruction of their parents' marriage. Adults can be so selfish with their own devlish acts that they never seem to put the kids first. This teacher knew the risks and the student did as well but he obviously is not mature enough to make the same decisions as the person in authority. Think of your own children if you have any that small and what it would be like for you if you were the husband with the wife who cheated.

Agreed. Didn't know she had kids. Now it makes it a sad story. Nobody ever mentions the children of the teacher in the teacher/student scenario. But hey, it's mom's selfish behavior that caused this. Nobody else to blame but her.

If the husband can get violent, I see why she cheats on him. She wants out. Let her go. If hubby assaults student, then at first hubby was a guy whose wife cheated on him. After the assault he'll be a guy whose cheated on him with a record for assault. And everyone will know who he is. Only those within their circle know who they are. Many of her teaching colleagues may not know her husband by face. But his mugshot will plastered all over the evening news and newspapers as the jealous husband of a teacher who cheated on him with a student. Then he really looks like a chump - attacking high school student. Regardless of age. Football player or wrestler or not. An 18-year old hasn't acquired his grown man strength yet.
