April 12, 201214 yr Author His defensive skills must be absolutely unreal if that is the case. Best I have ever seen. Plenty of old timers have said best since Bill Russell. Middle age crowd says best since Alonzo Mourning. All agree there hasn't been a kid like him in a LONG time...
April 12, 201214 yr If I remember correctly Dikembe Mutombo had very little offensive game at Georgetown. Would you compare Noel's game to his?
April 12, 201214 yr Nope. Zero chance... Agreed. His parents are divorced. Dad drives a cab. Mom had to quit her 2 jobs due to an injury. He'll go get paid.

April 12, 201214 yr If I remember correctly Dikembe Mutombo had very little offensive game at Georgetown. Would you compare Noel's game to his? I'm not GT or a recruiting guy but I would say Noel ends up being a much more effective offensive player than Mutumbo was. Especially at this point. Next year expect to see a lot of what Davis did in the first part of the season (mostly around the rim and before he involved his perimeter game) with Noel getting most of his points around the rim ala the lob, on putbacks, or on the break. The penetrate and lob is going to be just as effective next season as it was this season.

April 12, 201214 yr But what guards are on the radar? I feel like guard depth is severely lacking. Are there any in the 2012 class or could we see the JUCO route? It's great to get the big man but if you don't have guards who can get the ball to him or be a threat from the outside then he's not going to be as effective. Where's the guard play going to come from?
April 12, 201214 yr According to Rivals, the top ranked guard still remaining is #67 Torrian Graham. I believe he was formerly committed to NC State.

Where's the guard play going to come from? Harrow is a pretty good PG. I assume Goodwin will play the 2 if they don't get another guard.

Where's the guard play going to come from? With Kentucky's offense under Cal, all you need is a few guards/wings who can penetrate, draw the D and lob it up for a dunk.
