Reports say Petrino reported to the police that she was on the bike with him during the accident, but the Univeristy was unaware that she was involved? She is listed on the police report as a passenger.

Bobby Petrino could survive an affair. Lots of coaches do. But can he survive lying to a superior about an affair with a mistress he hired?

My guess is Arkansas plays the wait and see game with how the fan base and boosters reaction. If its not too negative no way they fire him. He has Arkansas program winning and they know that in 1 year after firing him he will be rehired with a good chance another SEC school.

Absolutely. ESPN posted this about his contract:

 

Petrino signed a new seven-year contract in December 2010 after completing his third regular season at Arkansas. The contract, which was for an average of $3.53 million annually, had a clause in it that would allow Arkansas to dismiss Petrino for "engaging in conduct, as solely determined by the university, which is clearly contrary to the character and responsibilities of a person occupying the position of head football coach or which negatively or adversely affects the reputation of the (university's) athletics programs in any way."

 

I would think hiring your mistress to be a football staff support member could negatively affect the reputation of the university. The fact that her fiancee works in the athletic department makes it even worse.

This was the best news I could have woken up to this morning. Arkansas easily has the worst fan base in the SEC, this may make me have to go to Fayetteville next fall for the Ole Miss Arkansas game if he's fired. And if he isn't fired, well good luck recruiting players when mama has been told by every other SEC coach what a scumbag you are.

He won't be fired. He is winning and close to winning an SEC title.

I hear a lot of Petino comparisons but this case is different on a few fronts and IMO he will be fired.
