I'm usually a nervous fan but ever since the SEC Tournament I've just had a confidence that this group will not allow a loss. They're not riding one person who could have an off game. One after another they are stepping up and making plays. I think they win by double digits to seal their place in UK history.

If it is a blowout, it will be the first national championship in that building that didn't go down to the last 20 seconds or so. I'm going with Kentucky 76 Kansas 72.

 

Those of you who do not know the history:

 

1982: North Carolina 63, Georgetown 62. A Freshman Guard, some of you may heard of, Michael Jordan hits a 17 footer from the corner to go ahead 63-62. Georgetown guard Freddie Brown throws an errant pass to James Worthy, game over.

 

March 30, 1987: Indiana 74, Syracuse 73. Keith Smart, a JUCO transfer guard for the Hoosiers hits a shot from the same corner as Michael Jordan with 3 seconds to go and much like Ohio State at the end of their game the other night, Syracuse players stood and did nothing for about two seconds and finally called a timeout.

 

1993: North Carolina 77, Michigan 71. Tarheels have the lead when Michigan inbounds the ball, Chris Webber first drags his feet, should have been traveling then takes off up the court and calls a timeout and the Wolverines had none left. Carolina hits four FTs I think and seals the game 77-71.

 

2003: Syracuse 81, Kansas 78. With the score 80-78, Kansas had a chance to tie the game after Syracuse's Hakim Warrick missed FTs. He seemed to come out of nowhere to block a Kansas player's shot and an Orange (or Orangemen, not sure) FT sealed the deal with less than a second remaining.

I think the Cats should win this one and do so fairly comfortably. I just don't see a single guy on KU's roster that can guard Miller or MKG. I think those two are going to have good games, and I get the feeling Anthony Davis is going to make a statement tonight.

I'm with ya. I had two meetings cancelled today, which I'd usually be happy about, but that just makes this day drag even worse.

I'm watching the UK/Kansas game from earlier this year on ESPNU. Honestly that game was a complete mismatch, UK is up 17 with 5 minutes to play. After watching that game I think that Robinson will come out and try and play very physical and bully UK. I don't know much about the kid but in the second half of this game he acted like a thug.

I like that prediction, I said earlier in this thread I wanted to say 12-15 but it's hard. Had UK been in a championship game in the past decade I think I could do it but I'm just so flippin scared. Feel like a kid that wants to ask a girl out but is afraid she'll say no even after her friends say she likes you. :lol:

I think the venue that the NCAA is using for the Final Four is leading to closer games. It's hard to blow someone out when it's nearly impossible to shoot a great percentage from deep.

Since moving games to the open dome and raising the court 3 point shooting percentages have fallen. That's just what the numbers say but as Jerry Claiborne used to say "we can play the if'n game all day."
