Is he going to hit a 3 or a 2 for the win? Because he is like 0-100 during the tournament on 3's.

I have had a feeling for about 2 months that Vargas has to come in to an important game and give them 5-6 minutes in the first half due to foul trouble. I think he has been a big part of the team in practice but has not been needed in a game. I think he holds his own and plays solid defense and gets a 3-4 rebounds and maybe a put back for two points.

 

I hope I am wrong as my heart may not be able to take it :lol:

 

My other thought is the same scenario as last week. They play a rival (Indiana) and I was concerned about Baylor after the hype all week with a rival but they come out and blow by Baylor. I think now that the rival in Louisville is out, they come out strong and go up by 15 plus in the first half behind a strong performance by Jones and they play even the rest of the game and win by 12-15.:clap:

The big concern in this game is foul trouble. Kansas is going to attack with their big guys and try to get UK in foul trouble. If the refs let contact go and there is no foul trouble, then UK should win by double digits. I also see a high scoring game because Kansas is going to push tempo. They know they are in trouble if they have to rely on their half court offense so they are going to push it. UK needs to stay out of foul trouble, take care of the ball and attack on offense. I also would like to see more stay at home defense versus leaving your man to go for blocks. The Cats don't want a repeat of the UL second chance point debacle. Finally, I will be interested in seeing the matchups on defense. Cal often has interesting strategy on defense like MKG guarding Siva on Saturday. Personally, I would put Jones on Robinson. I think Jones would rise to the challenge and bring intensity from the get go. Plus, that should help insulate Davis and MKG from potential foul trouble.

VR - I'm totally with you about Jones guarding Robinson. Definitely a strategy that I agree with, at least to start the game and see how it goes.

 

I really need to shave before I head out to watch the game tonight, but I can't can't do it. Can't shave on game days...never did when I played in HS either. Looking pretty scruffy today.

They have said all day that plenty of seats were available. There will be some there that are not Kansas or Kentucky fans. I'm probably light on the number of fans for both teams as well. There won't be as many there as Saturday night.

Agree to disagree. At some point, the intensity is as high as it can get and no other factor (e.g. revenge) can increase it. Teams in championship games are at their peak in intensity and other factors can't make you any more intense.
