Agree to disagree. At some point, the intensity is as high as it can get and no other factor (e.g. revenge) can increase it. Teams in championship games are at their peak in intensity and other factors can't make you any more intense.

 

I'll promise you that if there tied with 5 minutes to go. The intensity will be much higher that it was at tip off...

I'm nervous but not because I I think UK will lose but because of all the worst case scenarios involved. I can't handle it.

Probably because (in my lifetime) I've seen these things derail a chance at a title:

 

1) John Wooden decides to retire and thereby sets a chain of events in motion from a fired up squad to a home court type atmosphere in the National Title game in 1975.

 

2) After leading by 12 in the first half and 7 at the half, UK goes 3-33 vs. Georgetown in the Final Four.

 

3) UK has to beat Alabama in the Sweet 16 and LSU in the Regional Final in '86 in order to get to the Final Four. Cats have done it 3 times already. Do it a 4th vs. UA but lose by 2 to LSU. Then we watch a Louisville team we defeated earlier in the year win the NCAA.

 

4) 1992. Enough said.

 

5) 1993. Cats claw back against the Fab Five as they play their most complete game of the year in the National Semi. Dale Brown goes down with a shoulder injury, taking his 17 points to the bench. Mash fouls out in OT when he was dominating the first couple of minutes and the Fab weren't so Fab.

 

6) 1997. Derek Anderson. Enough said.

 

7) 2010. Cats can't throw it in the ocean against a Hot West Virginia and lose in the Regional Final.

 

8) 2011. Can't hit Free Throws or else the Cats are in the NCAA Final vs. Butler.
