American Idol 2012

Jessica's strong performance (especially in the last song) has me worried that she may send Phillip home.

It's all about voting blocs and hers' is not as strong as PP's.

I like both Phillip and Joshua as people. Phillip is funny and Joshua is shy, unassuming and well mannered. I think Jessica and Hollie are also good people. As far as singing talent is concerned, no one can sing better than Jessica Sanchez. She may not be the performer that others are, but she is also only 16 years old. While Joshua is a good performer, he tends to scream a little too much, as far as I am concerned. As far as Phillip is concerned, I can't get past the facial contortions he makes. People have compared him to Dave Mathews and I have always found Dave Mathews boring. I think that Joshua will probably win (based on the standing ovations by the judges every time he sings) but I am rooting for Jessica. I picked her when they selected the top 20.

America got it right by sending Holly home. I'm getting tired of watching Joshua cry every week when someone gets voted off. Just give him a box of tissues next time!

It's always funny the wide variety of opinions people have. I can't stand Jessica I would take Holly over her any day. I think the audience got it right when they voted Jessica off before, unfortunately she got saved.

My favorite was Colton. I thought it would come down to him and Phillip. I still think it comes down to Phillip and somebody. Probably Joshua. But in my opinion Joshua is a lounge singer. He has a good voice for one style of music, there is a niche out there for him but I just can't picture him having big-time success. In the end I'm sticking with Phillip.

The really funny thing is that in the beginning. They said this Idol was all about the girls, they were way better than the guys. That hasn't workrd out.

It's all about the votes, and more importantly, who votes.

Do you really think the Idol voting demographic is analyzing who gave the best performance each night before casting their votes?

You are right about variety of opinions. Colton Dixon was my least favorite of all of the singers. I did not like his style of singing or his voice, in general. It's good that everybody doesn't like the same singers or all music would be the same. I just think Jessica is the the best singer, without a doubt. And since this is theoretically a singing contest, it wasn't a hard choice for me.

The "its a singing contest" is a myth. If it was an opera singer would enter and it would be over after a week and we'd be watching "House" re-runs.

Hence the theoretically. I don't like opera and I do like House.

Not a fan of Jessica either. Judges are constantly trying to justify the save.
