American Idol 2012

I don't care how the vote turns out , this contest is OVER!

It's not close. Josh Ledett is crazy good.

But he's nowhere near as good as the judges (especially Jennifer) make him out to be. I see him being in the final with Skylar.

I disagree on his talent. He is at a different level than the others.

I think Josh is a decent entertainer, who has gotten much better with stage presence during the show. I didn't like him much at all early, but he's won me over.

I just skimmed the thread. Sandman had this right from a couple weeks ago. Joshua's name was not being mentioned much in the first couple pages, but now he is a frontrunner.

Skylar's performances are strong and effortless, but I can't say that I enjoy them.

Holly is growing on me. She gets my "most improved" award.

Jessica is very very good for her age, but still something is missing.

Philip Philips--I still look forward to his performances and I want him to do well. But he may be hurting from some crazy risks.

Jennifer said he was the most talented singer to come along in the past 50 years! If that's not hyperbole I don't know what is.....and I don't!

I thought her statement was ridiculous. Joshua is no where close to some of the previous participants and in my eyes, he's not the best of the remaining six. If he does win, what's his future hold? He's a good singer and would make a great choir director.

Disagree completely other than his future but that's true for every Idol contestant. There is not a strong record of record sales for Idol participants.

The only real exceptions would be Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Chris Daughtry.

Correct. It's not an automatic step to success.

Skylar out. I'm cool with that. Talented but wholly annoying.

Skylar goes home. Would have rather seen one of the other girls leave but "America voted". I still think she will have the most productive career of the remaining participants. Here future looks bright in the country world.

Phillip, or maybe Jessica, should be out of there. Terrible decision by the voters this week. :irked:

I did not get to see the results show yet.

I was surprised that it was Skylar.

The only thing that I can think of with the the 3 girls is this----on Wednesday's show, both Holly and Jessica were starting to really open up and unfold and show more of what they are capable of. I was intrigued by both girls becasue I was seeing some fresh and new stuff with them.

Skylar had very strong performances on Wednesday, but it was predictable and the same as what she has been doing each night.

This is a singing/popularity contest. Jessica Sanchez is, without a doubt, the best singer. Phillip Phillips sings like Joe Cocker (whom I don't like) and always looks like he is in pain or constipated. Having said that, I do really like him when he is not singing. It does sound like he is the most popular. I really did not like Colton Dixon. I did not like his singing at all. All in all, I think Josh Ledet will win, although I think he screams a little too much.

Based on talent and great performances, I will be surprised if Josh does not win the whole thing.

But I will add that when he is not singing, he seems very uncomfortable on stage and doing interviews and such.

As you discuss popularity, Phillip and Holly and even Jessica have shown more of their personality.

My rankings for audience connection---Philip, then Holly, with a toss up between Josh and Jessica.

I think what killed Skylar was her second performance. There was something about it that just turned me off. Maybe she was trying too hard, but she seemed to be struggling and it didn't come off well.
