You chose to live next to a commercial business park and I am sure it is extremely convenient for you and your family when you also chose to patronize one of those many businesses because you can walk and in cases like that you have to take the good with the bad.

 

Gas costs just as much for private mowers and if cost is the issue then the grass company needs to up their rates (in addition to praying for more snow next year).

 

I am thinking all week woodsrider. I like 10am, I can live with 9am, but anything before 9am ain't right.

We do enjoy the convenience of walking to a lot of our favorite places. But I don't see what that has to do with a commercial mower needing to mow residential homes later.

I consider it no different than any other noise violation. I rent where the same person owns a few places real close together, so 1 guy mows them all and I have complained about early weekend starting times. Also I called and complained about their handyman using power tools at the place next to me about 630 am on a work day. The calls must have worked because I never see or hear either of them since.

I say 8am in general 7days a week. But it depends on the size of the yard. A huge yard I say no time has I be give but a small yard could probably wait a little longer but I wouldn't be upset one way or another.

I know too many professional mowers/landscapers who do not have any commercial accounts. The only way to make money doing home lawns, only, is to start early and work late. I would never deprive someone of working, because I want to sleep in.

Thought of this thread this morning as someone on my street cranked something up at 7:30 this morning, and it's been running off and on ever since.

Do you early noise haters also feel the same way about doing similar tasks, or having a backyard barbecue cranking at 9pm? Some of us get up at 4:30 in the morning. :lol:

 

I'm chomping at the bit right now to get out there and crank up my hedge trimmers.

I chuckle every time I see this thread. Am I the only one that lives on farmland? Farming hours are from daylight to dusk and in addition to mowers include tractors, hay bailers, diskers, gun shots, etc. I sleep with a fan on in my room and the wakeup noise is minimal.

 

Also, I used to live fairly close to the 1st tee at a golf course. Those were some early mornings, too. Oddly, I was awakened more than once by a golf ball hitting the wall above my head. My house was at a right angle to the green, so those were some bad golfers. :lol:

I get those are the rules on farmland or living on a golf course but not in a sub-division.

 

We can go back to code enforcement. Many many things are different depending on location.

 

Although I don't agree with it I understand the commercial mowers having to do what they have to do. However, I take issue with some other people in life, they are plain rude and don't care about anyone but themselves and if mowing at 730am (nees example) fits into their little world then they are going to mow at 730am and they don't give a you know what about anyone else. Rude!
