What about putting out trash at 3-4 in the afternoon the day before? My neighbor does this and it really tees me off. Looks like crap. I always wait til after dark to put out my trash.

Sidebar----Our garbage guys run every friday at 6:30 AM, they are very loud!!! I get the kid off to his bus at 6:18, and just wait. Then back to bed.

Doesn't bother me. I get up everyday at 6, so by 8 I am off on my scheduled tasks by then, anyway. Besides, the couples' schedules only allow that time for mowing.

 

The only time he can do it is Sunday at 8 AM? He must be a busy guy.

My garbage comes very early in the morning 5-6 AM most of the time. It never wakes me up.

Would you rather have a neighbor who mows their lawn early or one who doesn't mow it at all?

 

I used to have a next door neighbor that would mow my grass. I would be on my way home thinking that my lawn needs cutting and I pull up and he's would riding his tractor in my front yard mowing away. I would be like, dude, what are you doing? He just didn't a yard big enough to fulfill his enjoyment on his Cub Cadet so he would stroll on over and mow mine. I said, if I didn't like cutting grass, I would move into a condo. Plus he didn't take the detail that I do my own lawn with. I like cutting my own grass. Dude was crazy.

I do not live in Florence but in my neighborhood, you cannot park a vehicle with a company name on the side of the vehicle your driveway. Also, 1 day for a trailer or boat then it must be moved from the property.

 

Does that also apply to police cruisers?

Luckily I don't have a front yard so it usually goes until a neighbor kid offers to mow it for cheap, my roommate caves first, or I start to lose the dog...

I like the idea of no earlier than 9 rule. It's not neccessarily for me, it's for my kids. If they sleep in on the weekends and wake up on their own, then they are in a much better mood. I have a neighbor that will start around 7:30/8:00 on the weekends.

Any earlier than 9 on the weekends and you are being a pretty bad neighbor. I usually don't do anything until 10am if I do it on the weekends but I try to get it done in the evening after work. I think 8 is resonable on the weekdays since the vast majority of people are awake.

In my case Sunday has always been considered a day of rest, so I would let people sleep in a little more. That and Saturday seems like more of a late night day for most people who go out.

The most certainly shouldn't be hammering away at 7 AM on the house next to me.

 

Summer of 1980 we had several days near or over 100. Our construction site started up at 5:30am and stopped around 10. Came back around 7 and worked until 9:30 or so. Roofers, carpenters, bricklayers, everyone. This was a new neighborhood but there were maybe 20 occupied houses.
