How many UK fans actually watch the games live?

Featured Replies

I normally DVR most of the UK games. It has nothing to do with superstition however, I do it for convenience. Seems like the Cats often play during the time that I have to help me kids with homework, getting ready for bed etc. Once their in bed I can relax and watch the game in quite and skip all the timeouts, halftime, etc. Now the big games like UK / UNC, UK / UL, SEC T, NCAA T, I usually watch live.

At worst I watch on a slight delay. But I don't understand that logic of never watching the games. If you don't watch then how are you really a fan?

For the regular season games, I watch on a 30-40 minute delay only so I can skip through the commercials. By the mid-point in the second half, I'm live again.

I don't doubt its true in certain people, but I hesitate to say its a majority. I'd assume this is a small and IMO somewhat odd minority. If you live in Lexington for instance its almost impossible to go anywhere w/o knowing how the team is doing during the game. If you stay at home and avoid watching/listening, I guarantee if its a close or crazy game come tournament time, you can hear neighbors cheers or groans highlighting the game.

I change movies when a scene I am watching makes me nervous, like if a kid is stealing food and I know he is going to get caught. Just can't stand to see it, but I have never thought about changing from a UK game.

I usually DVR the game and start it about 20 minutes late but that's just so I don't have to sit through commercials and only if I'm not out with friends watching the game.

Most of the time I watch on DVR, but that's mostly because I hate commercials. I'm usually caught up to real time by the latter part of the 2nd half.

That's me.

Same here, only thing that sucks is I can't look at any social media until I'm all caught up.

Thanks. Appreciate the commentary.

Haha, I posted that before ever reading any comments so promise that statement wasn't applied to anybody in particular! I'm sure your reason is good.

That's an excellent point. And I would add that you basically have to put your phone to the side for a while.

Especially true because I signed up through ukathletics.com to get score updates text to my phone.

If I don't watch/listen live, then I'm likely never going to watch. Exceptions will be made to this depending on how good of a game it sounds like it was.

Wow, then you'd have to turn the phone completely off!

It's rough, if I'm texting someone I have to cover the bottom of the screen until I read who it's from and yes I definitely do that.

Man, All In, you really showed how crazy and dumb UK fans are with this thread
