Terence Newman visiting the Bengals

Recommended Posts

Bryan Broaddus of ESPN Dallas reported earlier in the day that he’s “hearing” free agent cornerback Terence Newman will visit Cincinnati, as well. Newman is over the hill, but has ties to Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and could be a quality signing for depth.

No thanks. He is terrible in coverage and According to Pro Football Focus, he had the fifth-worst grade in coverage and gave up the fifth-most yards in yards after the catch.

Agree 100% and you can bet he will not sign cheap. This would be a huge waste of cap money but then this is the Bengals we are talking about here.

Speaking at the owners meetings, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said that the team is working toward signing Terence Newman. Newman was released by the Cowboys earlier this offseason after a mediocre 2011 season, but Lewis and the Bengals think a reunion with defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer might get him back on track.
