March 13, 201214 yr KSR just put up a story ranking the regions in a few different ways. They generally come up with the West being the toughest and South being 2nd.
March 13, 201214 yr Love UK's path to New Orleans. Relish the thought of playing UCONN. I think UK will dismantle UCONN. Also hoping IU is waiting in Atlanta. Both are on my top all time dislike list. Is it Thursday yet? I wish I had your confidence as it pertains to UCONN.
March 13, 201214 yr I wish I had your confidence as it pertains to UCONN. UCONN is a shell of what they were last season without Walker. We are also playing them in our backyard. HUGE advantage. I know CAL wants to beat Calhoun badly. UK will go on a second half run that blows this game wide open. Hopefully, IU will be waiting.
March 13, 201214 yr Outside of the selection of Atlanta as the region over St. Louis, here are my reasons that UK got absolutely no respect as the (obvious and clear) #1 overall team: 1) WKU 2) UConn 3) IU 4) Duke These are the teams you would expect Kentucky to have to go through to get to the Final Four. First, an in-state school that turned it on at the end of the year and would be absolutely desperate to beat UK and not just "happy to be there." Second, a team with the type of inside-outside talent that has the potential to play with anyone in the country. The team and coach, while under-performers most of the year, have a ton of big game experience including a fairly big one against Kentucky less than a year ago... and they just happen to be from the conference whose teams give UK the most trouble in the tournament. Third, one of the only two teams THIS ENTIRE YEAR that has already proven to themselves that they can beat Kentucky. That is no small factor, because this UK team win most of their games before the ball bounces. That wouldn't be the case here. Fourth, it is not even remotely possible that the committee thought this was genuinely the worst 2 seed. In fact, the committee already admitted that they aren't. Any 2 seed isn't chopped liver, but in the regional final UK would most likely face a team that has the outside shooting and the coaching to hang with any team in the country. UK got hosed. I would be losing my mind right now if Louisville had the kind of year Kentucky did and were "rewarded" in this manner. Just when you think you have heard everything!!!! How about 5 or 6 Division II schools.
March 13, 201214 yr Convince me why they have the hardest bracket. I'm still waiting on someone to convince me. Anyone. I just don't see it. You can try though. Go ahead. Just turn on your TV.
March 13, 201214 yr Like others have said, you people saying the south is the toughest region...convince us. You're not even putting up a fight. Your debate is because other people said so. I've said that the south has the weakest 2, 3 and 4 seeds and no one has disagreed.... And yours is because a handful of those on here say it's not....Sorry. Like him or not, Dickie V knows more than you and me about this stuff. That's just one.
March 13, 201214 yr Just turn on your TV. Are we watching the same game? Both of these teams look terrible.

March 13, 201214 yr I can't believe the first point in this thread involved WKU... I'm watching this play-in game and they are terrible.
March 13, 201214 yr Are we watching the same game? Both of these teams look terrible. The point was that UK is in the toughest bracket because the people on TV say so...

March 14, 201214 yr Not going to read through all of this but UK is no where near the toughest bracket. IMO the toughest brackets is the East: East: #1 Syracuse (arguably the deepest team in the country with or without Melo) #2 Ohio State (Big 10 Runner up, destroyed UK's #2 seed, although it was in Columbus) #3 Florida St (ACC Champ- 4 wins over UNC and Duke...yes I know 2 of those were with each team missing a player) #4 Wisconsin (Always one of the top teams in the Big 10) #5 Vandy (SEC champion) #6 Cincinnati (Big East Runner Up- only team to beat Syracuse at full strength)

March 14, 201214 yr Not going to read through all of this but UK is no where near the toughest bracket. IMO the toughest brackets is the East: East: #1 Syracuse (arguably the deepest team in the country with or without Melo) Just lost a key player, and the #1 seed is irrelevent when discussing which #1 got the toughest draw #2 Ohio State (Big 10 Runner up, destroyed UK's #2 seed, although it was in Columbus) RPI below Duke and Kansas. Lost to Illinois (lowest RPI loss of Duke/KU/OSU). #3 Florida St (ACC Champ- 4 wins over UNC and Duke...yes I know 2 of those were with each team missing a player) RPI below Baylor and Marquette. Most losses of any 3 seed. #4 Wisconsin (Always one of the top teams in the Big 10) Worst RPI of any 4 seed. #5 Vandy (SEC champion) Lost to Cleveland St, Indiana St, Miss St, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Always bows out of the tournament early. #6 Cincinnati (Big East Runner Up- only team to beat Syracuse at full strength) By FAR the worst RPI 6 seed at 43. (others are 19, 22, 27). 2 more losses than any other 6 seed meh...
