ugh... got ahead and decided to run clock/jack threes for the rest of the game. I hate trying to run clock with more than about 90 seconds left.

Oh well... 1996 baby.

Wake up call, just what we want know. Hate to lose any game, but I will trade SEC for NCAA

I'd said several times before that I thought Vandy was the only team in the SEC that could beat UK. They have a thicker guy in the middle and consistent outside shooting, and the consistency is what sets them apart from a team like Florida which is much more streaky. It will take a team forcing UK to shoot from the outside (and those shots not dropping) and be able to be more physical inside to beat Kentucky. Vandy hit on that today.

Vandy cannot beat UK. I repeat, Vandy cannot beat UK.

Good game... Vandy earned it. All the top seeds went down in their conference tournaments it seems. All will be hungry. I love it.

Simple Cal didnt adjust when Vandy went to zone.......

Vandy couldn't handle UK on the back board. Good move by Vandy Coaching staff.

UK still number 1 over all and should be in final 4

How sick is this....Coach Cal is 94-13 at UK....That's an .879 winning percentage.....They make the Elite Eight this year and he'll have won 100 games in his first three seasons at UK. Impressive stuff.

They win it all, they will be the first team in NCAA history to win 39. Wow. Cal is a great coach. Great.

So is the SEC Tourney Championship just a foregone conclusion? Even the 1996 team didn't win the SEC Tourney.

Mississippi State went to the Final Four as a 5 seed. It isn't like a whole lot of people saw them making it. Vanderbilt is certainly capable of beating UK, Mississippi State, Florida and Alabama could also. Keep in mind Cal hates the conference tourney, especially with a number 1 seed a lock.

I tried to tell you guys, that the SEC Tourney was not a foregone conclusion. All 3 games were decided by less than 10 points. Kentucky looked very vulnerable all weekend.

Vandy closed on a 16-2 run. In that time, UK missed 7 of their 28 three point attempts. That's against 4 shots inside the arc they took in that stretch. UK hit their last field goal with just over 8 minutes left in the game.

UK is lucky VU stunk it up at the line.

They shot a better percentage from the line than UK.

So my point is still correct, right?

Actually 1951 baby. :thumb:

If your point was that if Vandy hit all their free throws while UK hit no more, then yes, UK was lucky. I could just as easily say the reverse. Why would UK be any more lucky than Vandy was?

UK lost. It could have been worse.

Did the Cats lose one regular season game, go 16-0 during the SEC regular season , lose in the SEC tournament Championship game, and then win the NCAA touranament in 1951?
