March 8, 201214 yr Phil's Records There was a Phil's Records I used to go to all the time in Northern Kentucky. I'm drawing a blank as to the town it was in, but I know it was off the 471 exit (Southgate maybe?). I used to go there in high school because they had a lot of bootlegged stuff. Bought a $50 Pearl Jam two-disc set there...a live concert from Berlin, Germany that at one time was my most prized collection of music.
March 8, 201214 yr What rode did you travel on to get there? Ahh, good catch. Haha, to answer your question, though, I went to the Phil's Records on Grandview Drive in Ft. Mitchell - which eventually turned into the Phil's Records in Crescent Springs. At that point in time, I would have ridden down Dixie Highway to Pleasant Ridge Ave., Pleasant Ridge to Beechwood Rd., and Beechwood to Grandview Drive.
March 8, 201214 yr Between my roommate and me, we had something like 900 albums. Not a big deal now, but that was not the norm in the 70s. He had about 600; and close to half of those were "greatest hits" albums. Didn't matter if it was Del Reeves or the Rolling Stones - he loved those greatest hits albums. When I would drive from Baltimore and Morehead and back, the milk crates full of record albums took up more cargo space than anything else.
March 8, 201214 yr Once when the roomate went to take a shower, a friend and I hid all of his albums. On his shelves we left the one album of mine that he despised above all others. "Death Walks Behind You" by Atomic Rooster.
