Madisonville continues to show they are far and above the rest, while Webster suffers their first loss of the season: 1. Madisonville North Hopkins – BGP #6 Season record: 11-1 The Maroons continue their dominance in the state by winning 4 out of region games. They defeated BGP#8 McCracken County 55-52 in the 5th place game of the King of the Bluegrass. They then defeated Central, Simon Kenton, and BGP#13 Bourbon County in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic so they will play BGP#7 Lexington Catholic in the championship game on Monday night. Big game versus BGP#2 John Hardin on Jan 4. 2. Webster County Season Record: 10-1 Webster County lost their first game of the season 71-66 to Buford, GA in the Marlin Classic down in Panama City Beach, Fl. They won their first game of the Classic 67-24, and they play their last game on Monday. They will play Hopkins County Central on Jan 3. 3. Lyon County Season Record: 8-4 The Lyons had their worst week of the year as they lost 2 of 3 games at the Campbellsville High School Holiday Classic. They were able to defeat Washington County 87-52, but they dropped their game to Campbellsville 64-63, and then East Jessamine 63-50. They will faceoff against Crittenden County and Marshall County after the new Year. 4. Christian County Season Record: 4-7 Christian County took a turn for the worse this week losing 3 of 4 games. The Colonels suffered losses to Butler and Scott County in the Ashland Invitational before easily defeating Lewis County 80-57. Christian County now has to play 2 games against Paducah Tilghman with a game against University Heights sandwiched in between. 5. Henderson County Season Record: 6-5 Henderson won 2 of 3 games at the Beef O Brady/Danny Annis Memeorial Tournament. They defeated Edmonson County 83-53, and Todd County 70-50. They took a loss to Ohio County 79-75 in the final game. They will play Crittenden County before playing in the City of Middletown Holiday Classic with an opening game against Lafayette. 6. Union County Season Record: 6-5 Union went up into Illinois to play in the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic with mixed results. They were able to defeat Steeleville (IL) and Salem (IL), and lost to Carlyle (IL) and Richland County (IL). They will play BGP #9 Ashland and Lewis County this week. 7. Hopkinsville Season Record: 6-6 Hopkinsville showed some signs of improving losing in a close game to Great Crossing 53-50 and defeating Owensboro Catholic 60-55, and Grayson County 42-36. They will play Fort Campbell, and Bardstown this week. 8. University Heights Season Record:5-7 The Blazers played in the Lake Cumberland Holiday Hoops Classic and pulled out two of three games. They tool a loss to Beech (TN) by 25 points, but looked much better in their wins against Somerset 63-57 and Sullivan East (TN) 71-59. They are off this coming week according to KHSAA. 9. Crittenden County Season Record: 6-3 Crittenden was scheduled to play at the Stewart County Christmas Classic, however no scores have been reported to KHSAA or in local newspapers. They will play Henderson County, BGP #8 McCracken County, and Lyon County this week. 10. Caldwell County Season Record: 4-7 The Tigers brought back down to earth after their 4 game winning streak. They lost both games at the West Ky Hoops Classic. They lost to Southwind (TN) 52-47 in game 1, and 56-39 to Northeast (TN). They will play Carlisle County this week. 11. Trigg County Season Record: 4-7 The Wildcats split their two games this week, losing 68-49 to Peabody (TN), and then snapped their 6 game losing streak to Greenfield (TN) 59-49. They will attempt to keep the winning going against Livingston Central this week. 12. Dawson Springs Season Record: 3-6 The Panthers did not play this past week. Their next game will be Dec 30 against Apollo and then Jan 3 against Evansville Christian. 13. Fort Campbell Season Record: 5-5 Fort Campbell have now lost 4 in a row. They were defeated by Walnut Hills (OH) and Upperman (TN) at the Zaxby’s Holiday Tournament in Clarksville. They play the final game of that tournament tonight, and then travel to Hopkinsville on Jan 3. 14. Hopkins County Central Season Record: 0-10 The Storm did not play any games this week. They will play Webster County on Jan 3, trying to break their losing streak to open the season. 15. Livingston Central Season Record: 0-12 The Cardinals losing streak continued and now sits at 12.
