article 1A Game of the week 1A #7 Russellville @ 2A #10 Glasgow

Each team usually sets a specific goal they want to accomplish and they strive to meet it. 2016 had high hopes for both of Russellville and Glasgow as they returned a ton of talent and were thinking this may be their year to win a state title. Both had their dream seasons cut short against two powerhouse programs Beechwood and Louisville Desales.

Now its 2017 each team will have a new set of goals they are looking to accomplish. Russellville comes in this season having to fill several holes from graduating a talented and deep senior class from 2016. Russellville will be breaking in a new quarterback and Jacob Naylor will be that guy. Russellville will more than likely keep to what they do best and that is run the football. Expect Seniors Damon Hales, Jacolbie Mason and Edward Barber to be the primary ball carriers in the offense.

Glasgow will be a young team in 2017 but they still have high hopes for this team. They return the top two rushers on their team in Trajan Bradley and Selverio Greer. They also return their top wide out in Griffin Murphy. They will have a new Quarterback but they may stick to the ground game with the two studs returning in the backfield and it helps to have a division 1 lineman returning in Tanner Bowles who has been climbing up the ranks.

The key for many teams will be how will eachs offensive and defensive lines hold up and can they open holes up and can they make tackles?

Who is going to win this Top 10 battle of the titans? Can Russellville stop the running game for Glasgow and can Glasgow do the same? A win for either will be big and get the confidence train rolling.

I can't make a prediction on this one but a win for either is a solid win.
