In the game of the week Bryan Station went to Lafayette. The two teams combined for 120 points with Lafayette coming out on top 65 to 55. Rarely does a team give up 55 points and come off the field victorious but it worked – in this game – for the Generals. What can be gleaned from this game? Probably that Lafayette will have a hard time getting back to Bowling Green if they do not figure out their defense. As a comparison to the 55 the Defenders put on Lafayette, Dupont Manual’s defense has allowed a season TOTAL of only 32 points. Madison Central has allowed only 61. The Walker Wood led Generals can light up the scoreboard for sure. But, as the saying goes, defense wins championships. Coach Shaw and the Generals need to figure this out in the next couple of weeks. The next solid test of the Generals comes at season end against the rising Tates Creek team. That will provide a good indicator as to the possibility of the Generals getting back to Bowling Green The Next Ten Casey County gets a solid win over Bell County by a score of 53 to 14. The 3A Rebels stay undefeated and run their season record to 6 – 0. 1A Nicholas County continued to roll with a win over Berea. The Bluejackets are now 7-0 on the season and face Paris next in a key district game. remain undefeated. District Time All of Kentucky’s high school teams are already in or about to start district play. Though district championships are not as celebrated as they once were with the current playoff format the district standing still determine how the post season seeding works. Here are the districts that include Lexington/Central Kentucky teams. Class 1A District 3 – Eminence, Frankfort, Holy Cross (Louisville), Kentucky Country Day District 5 – Berea, Bishop Brossart, Bracken County, Nicholas County, Paris Class 2A District 4 – Christian Academy-Louisville, DeSales, Shawnee, Washington County District 7 – Danville, Lexington Christian, Middlesboro, Somerset Class 3A District 4 – Boyle County, Garrard County, Lexington Catholic, Western Hills District 8 – Bell County, Casey County, Corbin, Jackson County Class 4A District 4 – Collins, Franklin County, North Oldham, Shelby County, Spencer County District 5 – East Jessamine, Marion County, Mercer County, Taylor County, West Jessamine District 7 – Bourbon County, Harrison County, Holmes, Mason County, Scott Class 5A District 6 – Anderson County, Madison Southern, Montgomery County, Woodford County Class 6A District 7 – Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Scott County District 8 – George Rogers Clark, Lafayette, Madison Central, Tates Creek Highlighted teams are part of the Lexington/Central Kentucky ratings. With the top 4 teams from each district making the playoffs most teams will make the post season. Unfortunately, some will not. Three districts above have five teams, meaning on team from those three districts will not go to the post season. All the teams from the other districts will move on to the post-season. In 1A District 5 winless Berea is almost certain to miss the playoffs. In 4A District 5 it looks like Marion County will miss the post season. The 1 and 6 Knights have two district losses already and have a good East Jessamine and very good Taylor County team coming up. In 4A District 7 both Bourbon County and Harrison County should be safe to get into the post season. In this district Scott is 1 and 6 on the season and already has 2 district losses. Rebel
I know Lexington Catholic is 1-5 and may be ranked below the teams in their district but IMO no way does Lexington Catholic finish 4th. when it's all said and done. None of these teams I see could do any better with LC's scheduled.

But Western Hills and Garrard are better than usual this season and the two traditional powers have had rough first half of the season. The rubber is definitely hitting the road the next few weeks for these teams.
