You’ll find a common theme in the rankings this week: relatively little has changed since last week. This begins with Class 1A, where Beechwood is once again our #1 and will play 2A #7 Newport Central Catholic this week. Paintsville remains #2 after defeating 37 Raceland convincingly and looks to close out their regular season play with a win over 2A #9 Shelby Valley this week. This week’s #3 Pikeville takes on 3A Pike County Central and #4 Russellville takes on 4A Franklin-Simpson. Our top 10 this week plays two 2A teams, five 3A teams, one 4A team and one 5A team.

Mayfield is again #1 in the Class 2A rankings as the top 10 remain unchanged this week. Christian Academy - Louisville remains #2, defeating Washington County last week. DeSales is #3, followed by Owensboro Catholic at #4. Danville remains #5. #6 Murray travels to 3A #7 Paducah Tilghman this week for what promises to be a great game. #7 Newport Central Catholic travels to 1A #1 Beechwood. In all 6 of our top 10 teams are playing teams ranked in other classes this week.

Class 3A rankings this week are the same as las week, as all teams performed as expected. There are a lot of great match ups out of class this week. Central remains #1 after trouncing Henry County. The Yellow Jackets take on 6A #8 Pleasure Ridge Park this week. Belfry remains #2 after beating Pike County Central and takes on 4A #1 Johnson Central this week. #3 Lexington Catholic takes on 5A #6 Southwestern this week, and #4 Boyle County takes on 6A Paul Dunbar. #7 Paducah Tilghman hosts 2A #6 Murray.

No change this week in spots 1-9 in the Class 4A rankings. Despite solid arguments for South Warren as #1, Johnson Central retains that spot again this week. South Warren remains #2. Ashland remains #3, as they lose last week to #1 Johnson Central by only 1 point, but hold the Eagles to only 8 points. #4 Shelby County shut out Collins last week, who drops out of the rankings. Wayne County enters this week's rankins at #10.

At the top and bottom, Class 5A is unchanged this week. As has been the case this season, Bowling Green remains at #1 and Pulaski County at #2, as debate continues about which should be #1. A little shifting this week in the middle, as Fern Creek moves to #3, and Owensboro to #4 after a 1 point win at Graves County. Christian County moves to #5, bumping Southwestern to #6 after a 46 point loss to Pulaski County last week.

Class 6A remains unchanged this week, with the top 4 either undefeated or only posting one loss at this point in the season. As Male continues to stand atop the rankings this week. And with only 4A Western remaining on the schedule, the Bulldogs will (barring an epic collapse) remain undefeated for the 2015 season. Trinity, at #2, has only one loss this season, to Male. Scott County remains #3, and has only one loss to Cincinnati Elder (OH), beating all in-state competition. Simon Kenton is also undefeated this season, and also looks to end the season undefeated as the Pioneers end the season with 4A #6 Scott.
