THIS WEEK'S KEY GAMES:

DeSales at CAL- None bigger than this one! The two marquee games in 2A this year were Murray vs. Mayfield and DeSales vs. CAL to establish a firm pecking order at the top. Expect another "Instant Classic" in one of the State's fastest blooming rivalries. Winner takes District 4.

Walton-Verona @ Gallatin County- The Bearcats are red hot and appear to be the clear leader in the clubhouse in District 5, but a slip on the road at Gallatin suddenly changes everything.

Newport Central Catholic @ Cov. Holy Cross- This is an interesting one. On paper it looks like District 6 is between two ranked teams in NewCath and Lloyd.. but Holy Cross is a scary team that has flown under the radar. CHC has three quality losses and a win over Walton-Verona. With Lloyd Memorial looming for NewCath next week this is a dangerous trap game.

Leslie County @ Prestonsburg- This is a big one in District 8. It is not easy to win at the Blackcat's place and Leslie hasn't exactly played a gauntlet schedule. Prestonsburg is the more battle tested team and have a nasty taste in their mouth from losing at home to Shelby Valley.

Danville @ Somerset- Danville enters as a substantial favorite, but with District 7 on the line anything can happen. Last year Somerset gave the Ads all they wanted and lost 21-19.

McLean County @ Todd Central- The 3 seed in District 2 is up for grabs. Loser gets Mayfield.

I will disagree I seen all of district5 play owen will get 2 seed
