Regular season game. The weather forcast on game day called for washout rain. You couldn't have fit another person in the place with a shoe horn. It is a great rivalry in football and in all other sports. (Can't believe the soccer team was shut out 1-0 by the Birds.) Mutual respect for what both schools produce in the classroom and on the field/court/course/pool/fairway/ track/diamond/alley. Beat Highlands!!

A couple of more big victories like this one and there may be soccer lines on the field at DCM.

I'm sticking with Simon Kenton (at least until they play Trinity). The week before a playoff matchup between an undefeated Simon Kenton versus Trinity would be BGP gold. UK#1 fan versus the entire Trinity alumni association. Pay per view worthy.

Special teams were rough for the Colonels tonight. When Cov. Cath. last beat the Birds, they had a D-I field goal kicker and a D-1 punter. The Colonels kickoff cover team was gashed repeatedly tonight. Cov. Cath's kickoff and punt return teams had multiple fumbles. Turnovers, penalties at critical times. You can't spot a team as great as Highlands so many advantages. Very classy of Dale to have McCoy take a knee at the end of the game. Highlands hosts a great event. All in all, (the score notwithstanding) it was a great evening. Hard to squeeze more entertainment out of $6.00 than what the fans got tonight in Ft. Thomas. :thumb:

Brandon Hatton has been playing varsity basketball for Dixie since the 7th grade. A player has to be pretty special to play up from middle school.

I have always thought of Trinity as the "Simon Kenton of Jefferson County".

UK#1fan is a great marketer in the mold of Andy Furman or P.T. Barnum. With no disrespect to the Pioneers, I never followed the Simon Kenton program until I started reading UK#1fan's posts. On Friday nights after I check the Cov. Cath. score, (no need to check Highlands - they always win) I scroll down to see what Simon Kenton did. I hope the Pioneers keep it rolling. It keeps thing very interesting on here. (oh...and Beat Highlands.)
