I just looked at the new field turf that is being installed in the brand new field house at Henry County. They are doing it right in New Castle. The school board and the community have joined to put together a very impressive facility. Ongoing community fundraiser to equip the building. New weight area flooring has been installed, new turf just installed in the practice area. Next up is state of the art weight room and equipment. They are also going to have a full time trainer on staff with an office in the field house. Two very nice locker rooms, video room, coaches offices, all first class. This comes on the heels of a very good football season. It can do nothing but advance the sports programs in Henry County. 'Ol Leonard is just bustin' with pride with what is going on here. It can be done with people willing to work together. Be positive and it can happen. You can't get to second base with your foot on first!! Get me outta' here Percy.

For :dancingpaline in one year from a sieve to a rock wall. M. Hadden also runs the defense as well as anybody. It was no fluke they made it to the third round this year with sophs. and jrs.

:ylsuper: Hello pigskin purveyors, 'Ol Leonard Post Toasties here reporting for sadly the last time this year on Henry County. Made the way too long a trip to Paducah and ran into a blinding tornado. Defense forced five fumbles and recovered four, but the "O" couldn't capitalize. Had some important injuries, too. Cats never folded the tent and that will bode well for them in the near future. They graduate just six seniors from a 9-4 season. They played there way into a good year after a 2-2 start. It says here that H.C. will be a force in class 3A in 2008. They are closer than even they thought. Good off season coupled with a new field house and who knows maybe some transfers wanting to come aboard and this thing is ready for liftoff. Look for them to make some loud noise next season. So for now its back to the weight room to get bigger and stronger. Me and Percy will be checking in on them from time to time makin' sure its all good. Good luck to those teams remaining and ever' body have a safe and happy holiday season. Got to get the grease gun out and winterize the 'ol smart pill machine for another campaign. You 'bout ready to go Percy, get me outta' here.

Made they Henry County practice this Turkey Day. First time ever. Very cool. Nice group of parents/fans on hand. Breakfast provided by a supporter. Good spirited workout. Look forward to many more!

Hello football fans, 'ol Leonard Post Toasties here reporting for the last time before departing for Paducah tomorrow morning. Going to be quite a caravan leaving the Henry County High school. Even got some of them big high roller motor coaches goin' along. I went to the first ever Thanksgiving Day practice at H.C. this morning. Had around 100 on lookers in attendance even in less than favorable weather conditions. I didn't hear anybody complainin' 'bout the weather. :dancingpa I saw a football team that is ready to play, excited, and showing great confidence in their ability to get this thing done. Had one individual step up and bring sausage and biscuits, muffins, o.j. and fruit for the team after the light workout. The football atmosphere in this community has never been higher. Tomorrow, Dairy Queen is feeding the team before departure. It will be a long journey and it will be a very tough contest. The players understand what an opportunity has been given them. They will make the best of it. Me and Percy will leave out with the team and when we make our way back home we hope the trip is another entry into the H.C. football history book. See 'ya there. :fight::fight:Well 'ol Leonard has been in the woods today trying to fill the freezer with Bambi and I come back and everyone is talking about Henry County and North Oldham. Correct me if I am wrong, I thought this thread was for H.C. and P.T. North is a NON factor at this point. I saw the Wild Kitty's reference. It wasn't neither cute and nor called for. Henry had a great practice today, I watched a group of young men who believe they can win. That's a big part of the battle. They have a top notch staff that leaves no stone unturned putting together a good game plan. I will make the trip to Paducah because this school has never been in this position before and I wouldn't want to miss a major league upset. Get me outta' here Percy.

I think Mr. Holtz is referring to the fact that North will have to play the regular season game there and maybe a playoff game there as well.....if you make it that far. How many seniors does North graduate this year? I know you can find out.

:banana: I for one will be attending Henry County's Thanksgiving Day practice. It is their first time doing so and it will be a special event for them. Should be a lot of fun. Hope for a large turnout there. How 'bout you Percy, you goin'?

:dancingpa Hello football fans, 'ol Leonard here with a slight hangover looking for the hair of the dog. All of a sudden everybody's talking about Henry County football. I guess that's possible when your team is out of the runnin'. We're happy to have you aboard. Will this be an upset if Henry Co. wins? Of course, it will be a huge upset. But so far the clock hasn't struck midnight and Cinderella is still dancin' at the ball. And that's all you can ask for during Thanksgiving week. Don't write us off yet. We will show up and play the game. And we will give it our best effort. If that is not good enough, so be it. Lookin' forward to checkin' out your thought the rest of the week. Henry County @ Paducah Tilghman....Them Wildcats from New Castle are riding high after Friday night's annual final game win against North Oldham. Coach Martin's Mustangs had a whole herd of seniors this year but came up short again. Well, as they say, they's always next year. Now the felines from New Castle travel west for a showdown with speedy Paducah Tilghman. This could be the upset of the playoff season. Tilghman has to be looking past the visitors to the next round. And Henry County brings a team of over achievers to town with absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain which makes for a dangerous combination. Henry's defense can suffocate at times and teams have trouble defending their offense, specially now since they are chucking and packing the pigskin well. I truly don't know much about the home team but I do know their history. They will be a tough opponent and probably should win. But that's why they play 'um. The smart pill machine smoked and choked and wheezed and rolled out this little gem......Leonard's loser in a huge upset Paducah Tilghman. Get me outta' here quick Percy.

Any truth to the rumor that Coach Poynter is leaving Trimble after this year?

Well, it looks like the 'ol smart pill machine was right again about last Friday's game with North. Not a hard choice being that North is not physically as tough as Henry Co. The Cats defense rose to the occasion several times and shut North down after their first possession score. Henry is still improving as it gets it run game untracked. Paducah T. will be the toughest game of the year as it should be when you're playing in the third round of the state playoffs. There are only eight teams left to play for the ring. This is a great accomplishment for Henry County who was counted out early by many when their record was 2-2. A year like this is what is needed to start a tradition for your football program. From now on it will be an expectation to go deep in the playoffs each year. Not a pipe dream. They have cleared the most important hurdle. They have done it for the first time. They now know it is possible. Henry County will become a dangerous team. HC's many underclassmen will be a year older next year. No matter the outcome at Paducah Tilghman, this year is the start of a winning tradition at Henry County for many years to come. Good luck Cats!

The win last night against North Oldham was a huge building block for Coach E., his staff and team. They are putting together a program the right way from the ground up and will graduate just six seniors from a district championship team this year. They have a brand new field house on site which will be equipped 1st class and the players are believing in what's happening. Hopefully more and more kids will become a part of this program. And it's very possible that with what is taking place in Henry County they could draw players from surrounding areas who want to be a part of something special. A lot of the local teams felt this was "their year" because they had senior dominated teams. This team was not considered to have much of a year by anyone other than its members. They are a group of over achievers with no quit in them. Hard work will beat talent when talent won't work hard. See you in Paducah! Good Luck! Go Cats!

North Oldham @ Henry County Well, them good 'ol boys down at the fire hall have been sitting around the pot bellied stove waiting for this game since July 15th. Both schools have had similar seasons with the exception that Henry spoiled North's homecoming by being a bad date. Not much being said about that now. Wonder why? Coach Martin brings his herd of wild horses into the Cats den Friday night for what should be a good contest. Cats have not lost at home for over a year and North has never beaten them. Yet North is still favored, I don't get it. My little smart pill machine took little time in picking this one. Them ornery Wildcats will be more physical. Well the old pig skin prognosticator is back and ready for the playoffs to begin. Got a whole new bunch of smart pills out fresh today. Western Hills travels into the Wildcat's lair tonight in New Castle. Those fierce felines will have a little sumpin' ready for the visiting Wolverines. Cats are licking there wounds from last week and will be prowling for some fresh meat and be in a bad mood to boot. How did the Spencer County backs do against the Henry County defense? Were they a factor as they have been all year? Doesn't seem as though they were.

Henry County goes Bear huntin' Friday night in Taylorsville looking for a little pig skin pugilism. Those ferious felines from New Castle will sharpen their claws and bring an offense that is clicking and a defense that will be able to slow down those two hard running bruins from Spencer County. When the hair and the fur finally settles, the SC Bears will wonder who turpentined those Cats and got 'em so riled up. Looking for a good high school football game Friday night. Henry was completely humiliated last year at Carroll. They have waited 360 days for a chance to give it back to them. Henry has a much improved team, Carroll has one win, 3-0 over Owen. Have a good week of practice Wildcats. Keep your eye on the prize. You are steadily climbing the ladder, rung by rung. Your goals are ever nearer. Do not take Carroll lightly, they will give you their best effort. Stay focused. Keep fighting. Best of luck this coming week. Playmakers make plays when called upon.

Congrats Wildcats! Offense showed some quick score capability. Defense again played well all but the final series of the first half. My prediction was right. Henry sitting in the catbird seat in the district. All other teams are chasing them. Cats have Carroll Friday and then travel to Spencer for the final district game. Keep your intensity and focus. You are on track to achieving your goal of becoming district champions. By the way I thought the officials did not have control of the game and that led to a bad cheap shot out of bounds on the Henry County sideline and the ejection of a W.H. player. Good luck Cats.

Hey Knute...What in the world is a Mount Hadden? Sounds like it ought to be something you climb! Henry County will win this game and host a playoff game at home for the first time in the school's history. North Oldham will beat Spencer in the other district game. Henry will be alone in first place late tomorrow evening.

I think Henry County will take this one. They are playing at home for the first time in four weeks. Had a good win at rival Eminence last Friday, Western is not having a good year with just one win. Western will not be able to stop the Henry balanced offense. I think Henry's defense is superior as well. They are getting better every time out. District game for both. Looking forward to a Wildcat win.

Eminence doesn't like to play smash mouth football. They aren't gonna like playing it Friday night either. Henry County will line up and roll and then pick them apart through the air. Henry seems to be improving each time out. More balanced attack and their defense makes opposing teams earn their points. Better get to the Eminence field early Friday. Always a huge crowd for this one. I think Eminence's Mr. Running back and Mr. Receiver will be glad when this one is over. I'll be there pulling for the Wildcats. Henry County by three TD's at least.

Henry started three seniors and three freshmen. Not a senior lineman on the team. Future looks good for the Wildcats. Henry defense was sticky. Three or four take aways. North had 4th and inches stopped twice. North Oldham QB probably has some knots and brusies today he didn't have before the game. Good win at North for the Cats.
