  1. Henry J.V. 26-8 over Trimble tonight. A sign of things to come?
  2. Carroll had better get their minds right for a tough bunch from Ludlow. They won't quit no matter the score.
  3. T B & G, Now you know numbers alone is no guarantee of a win. No one who knows sports will agree to that. You beat us last year as did Pendleton Co. who dressed 18 or 19. I can't apologize for Henry Co. because they have several players out. I thought that was the idea. Get 'em interested and get 'em out. Still just play with eleven at a time. Lookin' forward to it Friday night when you come to "The Hill".
  4. Hey, Knute, it's good to get that first one isn't it?
  5. In all honesty, Casey Co. was a very young team. 27 freshmen, 7 upper classmen from the team last year. Trimble did what they should have done. Larry Sullivan is their guy. He runs, passes, kicks and I think I saw him selling popcorn at half. He will have his hands full next Friday night with the Henry County pressure defense. Erick Butler will be 100% and hungry after sitting out the first game.
  6. Hat's off to Ludlow. They did not quit and this will pay dividends later in the season. Henry County offense sputtered in the first half then caught fire. HC defense strong from the get go. Two interceptions and three fumble recoveries, one score. Defense allowed a total of 55 yards offense. I'd say the Panther q.b. is a bit sore this morning. Erick Butler returns to this smothering defense next week. Luke Magness had 259 yards passing in his first varsity start. Matt Long was the bowl player of the game. Nice crowd for an opener. Good luck to the Ludlow Panthers the rest of the way. Cats off and running at 1-0. Trimble county comes to "The Hill" next week. We haven't forgotten last season when you tried to put one in on us with 11 seconds left, and also your sideline shenanigans. Lets go watch the Cats beat the Cards Percy.
  7. Knute, the Mustangs got a lot of nice ink in the preview today. Good luck from an old friend.
  8. Well, hello there all you great fans of pigskin prognostication. We have finally made it to another glorious football season. The anticipation is high everywhere. It's time to roll out the little smart pill machine, check the fluids and see if she'll fire. The Henry County Wildcats are entering what could be a benchmark season in New Castle. All systems are locked and loaded for a Sadday night date with Ludlow from up north by the river. There is no shortage of talent this year in the Cat's lair. Some new faces and some that y'all be familiar with are looking to return to the regional final game this year. It says here don't bet against their chances of them doing just that. The Wildcat defense will give Ludlow fits and their offense should light up the scoreboard. Ludlow had better br ready for a cat fight Sadday night. The cats are ready to taste some fresh meat and see just how they stack up against other competition. They have battled among themselves for long enough. Henry County fans are looking for the Wildcats to start early and stay late. It should be fun. Leonard's loser Ludlow. Also in the first game Sadday night in New Castle, Casey County loses to Trimble County. I'm finished for now, get me outta' here Percy.
  9. Anyone giving any thought about Henry County this year? Made the regional finals last year against P.T. and return virtually everybody? Very impressive in their first scrimmage.
  10. Went to the Henry County field and watched the four teams participate. It was a round robin type scrimmage. Henry outscored North Bullitt and Dalton Cissell. Tied with Valley and were beaten by an impressive North Hardin. UK has a keeper in the N.H. QB King. He was liked greased lightning. Henry County will be a team to be dealt with this year in 3A. I know many already have their favorites, but do not be surprised if the Wildcat make a lot of noise this season. You heard it here first. What about the Raiders scrimmage TB&G?
  11. Football time in the Bluegrass is upon us. Lots of questions to be answered in the next two weekends with all important scrimmages taking place everywhere. Henry County will be tested against North Bullitt, North Hardin and Valley. I think they will give a good account of themselves. Only time will tell.
  12. Thanks Dark Horse 78 for clearing that up for TB&G. It was in fact a defensive practice intrasquad scrimmage. You really assume anything, you know what happens. What can we look for from the Raiders in 2008 TB&G.
  13. True blue (and gold) Your assumption is, of course, quite wrong. It was an intra squad defensive practice. Thanks Dark Horse 78 for the assist. But we do have some very good teams in our upcoming scrimmages. Come on, you know teams are not supposed to scrimmage during camp. How's your Raiders shaping up for 2008?
  14. The Wildcats have just completed a 4 day camp that has to be considered a success. Players are working hard with good attitudes and spirit. Good numbers out, 50+ players. However, one young man did ring out the second day. He will miss a good year. Watched a defensive scrimmage and counted 20 different players that were used with no real drop off in talent. Same for the other side of the ball. Competition at virtually every position. No one has been penciled in as a starter yet. The Cats have picked up 3 transfers and several other new players on the heels of a good 2007 season. Looking forward to the first scrimmage. Get me outta' here Percy.
  15. Henry County had 44 in the weight room Monday. And 13 are also going to Louisville for speed training at the Hoops complex two nights a week. Competition at every position this year. This team has a blue collar work ethic that will pay dividends this season. Let's go Percy.
  16. Henry County has a stable full returning. They lost a total of three starters on both sides of the ball and one of them was the kicker. Have just completed spring practice with 34 dressed. Another 6 are playing baseball and/or track. New weight room is in service. Coaching staff remains from last year. Looking forward to a good season.
  17. Where can you be heard on the radio? Does the broadcast reach Henry County? I'd like to tune in sometime if possible. Let's go Percy.
  18. :dancingpa The Henry County High School Fieldhouse continues to bring in funding for equipment for their new facility. Field turf in the indoor practice facility and rubber flooring for the weight room were the first two items to be purchased. Last Saturday night a dinner and auction was held in the new fieldhouse as a fundraiser. The steak/chicken dinner was catered by "Our Best" restaurant and was great. The live and silent auctions were conducted by auctioneer Rickey Timberlake and were very successful. Several thousand dollars were given to the fieldhouse effort by a spirited crowd of about 250. A very special announcement was made during the evening. The family of a late local doctor will be making a donation to furnish all equipment for the new training room. It will be named in his honor. A full time athletic trainer will come on staff in July to care for our student athletes. Last Friday, 100 custom made lockers were ordered for the two locker rooms. And just yesterday, the state of the art weight equipment was installed. This all happened because people worked together without worrying about who gets the credit. Donations, both small and large, have come from around the county and around the state. The goal of $75,000 will be met in the near future. This is a very special time to be a Henry County Wildcat!! 'Ol Leonard is about to bust he's so proud. Get me outta' here Percy.
  19. :dancingpa Two players from Henry County High School have signed on to play their college football with Campbellsville University. Cari Dunaway, a linebacker/receiver, and receiver/defensive back Travis McClanahan will suit up for the Tigers in the fall. Both players had impressive stats in receiving, reception yards and touchdown catches last year for the 9-4 Henry County Wildcats. Henry County advanced to the third round of the playoffs and were eventually eliminated at Paducah Tilghman. Ironically, new Campbellsville head coach Perry Thomas was the head coach at Tilghman last season. Good luck to both young men as they pursue their education and join the "Fighting Tigers" family.
  20. Do I see a pattern taking place in Oldham County? Last year it was South's coach, this year it's Oldham County's coach. Somebody better keep their head down.
  21. Just a little update on what's going on at Henry County. Complete new weight room equipment was ordered last week. Top of the line. Should be installed in the next four weeks. It will be as good as any school's, big or small, in the area. Indoor facility is already being utilized by the baseball and softball teams. The turf that was installed is awesome. More to come!
  22. Knute, Don't give me that old bad knee business. My body hurts more every day so I don't want to hear any of that. Don't know if you knew or not but H.C. is making improvements to their school much like North. New school construction and facade. New field house that now has flooring and turf down. Weights were ordered last week. A lot of kids lifting regularly and they are making good progress. We went to Anderson County for a lifting meet a couple weeks ago and did very well. Thinking around here is that it could be another good season. We'll see.
  23. Well its good to see my old buddy has made it through another winter almost. Looks like a lot has been going on at North. You should be proud. I fired up the old smart pill machine for 2008. If the khsaa leaves the districts alone North should be the choice to win the district. With all the new talent coming out for football the Mustangs should be a lock for district 2008 title. Western Hills should be improved. Spencer might be down a bit. Henry Co., well they'll be Henry County. I think you know what that means. Looking forward to seeing you at midfield this year.
