  1. Ol' Leonard will have his loser for this game in the morning. By the way the smart pill machine is undefeated this year just like H.C. and N.O.
  2. You won't have to wait much longer. Just two days!!!
  3. Dark Horse, I can't believe you have gone over to the "Dark Side". Have you no pride?
  4. Hey Mr. Holtz, give me your take on the N.O. /Henry Co. final score. I know your a N.O. fan, just want your honest opinion. I know you have probably seen both teams by now.
  5. It will be an exciting night for high school football. Everybody come and see the "instant classic".
  6. Hey, just saw that WLKY gave Henry Co. some pub on their 5:30 sportscast. Called them the biggest surprise of the 2008 season. Nice goin' WLKY!
  7. Boy, Knute's sure full of it today. This is not the NCAA. You coach what you have and what you can get to come out to play. You can't recruit players for positions. You have to make do with what you have. If you can coach,, you can make players. There are only so many athletes to choose from at the smaller schools. H.C. has more athletes that can play this year than in a long time. That's why they can platoon this year and wear teams down.
  8. So Mr. Holtz you're saying that the wing-T is for less physical teams to have a shot at more physical teams? Makes sense. Good strategy and good coaching.
  9. Good morning, Knute. "The game of the Year" in our district is just two days away. Mr. Holtz is feeling his North Oldham oats today. Granted Coach Martin is a good offensive mind and the wing-T is a tough offense to defend. But N.O. was only able to score 7 points against Henry Co. in each of their two games last year. And last year was supposed to be North's year with all their seniors. What gives? Sounds like the Cats defense can make plays. They have scored in every game so far this year. Picked up 18 turnovers, blocked two punts and have two safeties. And they did this with a running clock in three games. Stats like that will win ballgames. I think Henry County is just the more physical team year in and year out. And this year is no different. Nevertheless, it will still be decided on the field. Can't wait to watch this one Friday night. I'll give the Henry Co. offense their due a little later.
  10. Knute, sour grapes won't cut it here. Coach Martin left Henry Co. by his own accord. Since he left, in head's up competition Henry has won 3 games to North's 0. Henry's staff is made up of mostly para-professional coaches now. They took the same players that Coach Martin left when he went to North and have been quite successful. I don't know where the three year rule comes from. But last year was year two for Coach Engstrand and his staff. I don't think district champion and regional runner up is necessarily a bad year. Now in year three they are 4-0, averaging 51.5 points and have yet to let any team cross their goal line. How many schools in the state would like to be able to say that? They are not paper champions as some would say. Henry County has a solid football team. Friday night should tell the tale. North travels to New Castle. It will be a great football night. It's homecoming just like it was at North last year, both teams are undefeated, it's the 1st district game for each team and the last chance for Henry's seniors to face their old coach. Personally, I like the Cats chances for a win. But the game must be played out and all the posting on B. P. won't change the outcome. Good luck to Coach Maritn and the Mustangs and may the best team win. P.S. I don't see Coach M. going to any of the 6A schools Knute mentioned. I don't understand that post.
  11. Irresitible force meets immovable object Friday night in New Castle.
  12. Thank you Buttels. Finally someone up on the game of football.
  13. Sooner or later you're going to have to give this bunch from Henry County some love.
  14. Good morning all you purveyors of the pigskin. Let's get right down to it. The Pendleton County Wildcats make the 2 1/2 hour bus ride to the Henry County Wildcats lair tonight . I'm not sure they know just what is about to happen. The ferocious felines from New Castle are clawing just waitin' to avenge last year's loss at Falmouth. Pendleton Co. comes in having scored just two offensive touchdowns this year. That ain't gonna' work well this evening. Henry County's defense is for real. Number 1 in two statewide defensive categories and 2 in another. They have not allowed a single point in three games. Is this defense good or lucky? It won't be any different tonight. Henry's offense is averaging 50 points a game. It won't be any different tonight. Are you startin' to see a pattern here? When the cat hair settles to the ground after this one, the cats from Falmouth will be licking their wounds on the long bus ride home. Leonard's loser in a walk, Pendleton County. P.S. Hope you enjoy the game, Knute. Get me outta' here Percy.
  15. I was told that H.C. is the only team in the state of Ky. that has not been scored on. Can that be right?
  16. I stand corrected. H.C. has allowed just 57 yards on the ground this year according to khsaa stats.
  17. What's the matter with the North fans. Not much being said about the Mustangs this year. Why so quiet Knute? See you Friday night.
  18. Well football fans, both my Wildcat teams are 3-0. Say what you will about Henry County and their opponents. It remains that no one has crossed the goal line in 144 minutes of play. That there is impressive I don't care where you're from. Given up just 137 yards on the ground for the season. That's a good night for one back. If it was your team you'd be happy for them as well. When you're on top everybody wants to pull you down. I guess that's just human nature. Pendleton County will give the Cats a test Friday night. Heck, they won the game last year. But then again so did Trimble Co. Henry needs to keep playing the next play and things will be fine. I'll have the smart pill machine fired up later in the week. Come on Percy, got to get to church.
  19. Well, hello there all you purveyors of the pigskin. Ol' Leonard may not seem so foolish to ya' now that Henry County has posted two shut outs and catapulted to the top of the 3A rankings in one poll and #6 in another. I would prefer the top ranking in week ten as opposed to week three. Never the less, it is quite a recognition for a group of hard working, hard nosed Wildcat footballers. Let's get down to business. The Wildcats from New Castle go on the road this week and travel across the Kentucky River for a border war with the Rebels from Owen County. It says here that Owen County has been dealt a bad hand in this game. Henry's offense is putting up points at a feverish pace and the defense is nothing but tough. Henry's defense could be even stronger Friday night if all state junior linebacker Erick Butler is cleared for play. He has not been on the field yet this season and he is slobbering at the mouth for some action. That won't be good for the Rebel O. Owen comes into the game 1-1 after getting spanked by Gallatin County at home last week. Rain is a possibility Friday night. I don't think it can rain hard enough or long enough to change to outcome of this one. This one could get ugly early. Henry stays unbeaten and unscored on for the third week. Leonard's loser in a romp, Owen County. Let's get the rain suits out, Percy.
  20. Is there another team in the state that has given up just 5 first downs, less than 100 yards total offense and no points over 8 quarters? Let me hear from you. This defense is gettin it done. Rebels this week. :scared:
  21. Did somebody say something about hype? H.C. has a good football team this year. I don't know why Trimble threw the ball so much and lengthened the game. One correction. H.C. defense gave up 20 yards passing and 18 yards rushing for a total of 38 yards, one first down. Running clock for most of 2nd half. Defense scored again on an interception. H.C. kicking game was very good. No injuries to report. Travel to Owen next Friday night for number 3. Go Cats! Let's go Percy. :ylsuper:
  22. Well good mornin' all you crazy pigskin fans. The weather has taken a turn for the better and it should be a great night under the lights. Last week both Henry and Trimble Counties showed they could put up some good numbers on the scoreboard. And their defenses were solid. Only one can be the winner tonight and spoil the other teams unbeaten record. Those high strung felines from New Castle are only going to get better and better as the season progresses. Don't forget they had only one opportunity to scrimmage pre season and did not work with officials even then. It was a learning experience last Sadday night against Ludlow. The Rambling Raiders were all over a very young Casey Co in their opener. The smart pill machine says Trimble will meet the Wildcats and won't be treated to tea and cookies. The Cats have had last year's game stuck in their craws since their trip to Bedford. The Wildcats should be hittin' on just about all cylinders tonight. The Raiders won't have enough answers to make it a game. Henry's defense will again be all over the field. When the air clears, Trimble's All-11 offense will be "All through" and they'll be glad to get on the bus home. Leonard's loser , Trimble County. Let go Percy, get me outta' here.
