Again I tell of you administration have created all of this stuff about coaches leaving. Heck Nebraska has now fired 2 count them 2 head coaches that when they were fired had won 9 games with a bowl game left. Insanity they are doing this stuff now in high schools in KENTUCKY were football takes a back seat to hoops and that my friends is why coaches today will leave in a heartbeat if they can!!!

the great Coach smith that they speak of took a job for 2 or 3 weeks he didn't even them a year so I do not agee with what he did. But a school will always be able to find a coach but coach has to make a monthly income to survive so yes it will be and has been for a while get them before they get you. And Admin is behind all of this because they hold the power to control someones life!

it is wrong when they flat out put the screws to the coach!!!!!!

Oh and another thing I forgot to say your damned if you do and damned if you don't tell you are looking at another job. I have a friend in Ga that was up front with his administration about going to interview for another job that was better he ended up not taking it because not good timing for his family. He had a down year the next year and they fired him. So I wouldn't tell them either!!!

You cant blame a guy for looking at other jobs!! If you are a business man and a big company comes and says they want you and you will make more money. What are you going to do? A lot of people expect a football coach to not be like a business man BUT COACHES HAVE FAMILIES TO!!Listen guys its not like it was 25 years ago when a high school head coach would stay somewhere 30 years. And this is simple because the administration. When I was in high school 35 years ago our principal had been there for 22 years 22 YEARS!!!! You will never see that again those days are over. So coaches cant afford to sit on their hands and think they will always have a job there because administration changes so much and when it does you never know if they are wanting to get their guy in there!! Administrators have created this stuff because they no nothing about running a team. And since I am on my soap box let me say also that Admin use to be old coaches that understood how difficult it is to win and what it takes, heck today admin are English or Math teachers that never ran a team in their life and have no idea what or how it is to run something. Now they are not picked to be principal because they can lead or run a business they are chosen because they now what the standards are for test scores. Sorry I just got on a role. Good luck to Coach Jaggers he will come out better off for it.

if he won 6 games his first year he probable can coach. I to don't know much about Larue but I do know that in public schools you are going to go through some down years. Its high school football! PUBLIC high school football and you have some awful Senior classes despite what mommy and daddy think of their wonderful baby boy who was the best little league football player in the county and sorry mommy and daddy you don't play in your county in high school you have to play other schools. Most times 3 years is not enough time to eval a coach unless he is doing unethical things or is so much of a idiot or he has taken over a program that had very good young talent. But from what I have heard he took over a program that wasn't very good and he started several young players. Its hard to beat a super or prin who has an agenda!!!!

Thats great Mountain ref! But you are very right how can people expect coaches to be loyal when school systems have no loyalty! It has become a cutthroat business even at the high school level!

well said!!! you wont find another guy that knows football like Griffith or works has hard. You have to have players. I am sure Boone Co. has some but not enough for 6A football right now. What do they have coming up?

I watched those kids you are talking about drop 3 interceptions against Lafayette!!! In which they were still in the game even though they dropped those INT'S. Did not see a coach dropping into pass coverage, did not see a coach blocking and did not see a coach covering punts when the kid caught it on a high bounce and should have been tackled on the spot and ended up getting about 50 yards on the return!!! You are talking about a guy who's defensive only gave up about 10 points a game for a 10 year period at Bowling Green. And all this crap of you saying the coach doesn't need to implement his system. So he should implement your system, you build a program on your system as a head coach not parents, fans or anyone else.

Before you go on here talking smack know your facts, Coach Griffith was the head coach at Wayne Co. in the mid and late 90's!!! And he turned them around!!!!!!

I can tell all of you this. Boone Co. got one hell of a football coach. He has had chances to go be a head coach at other schools but turned them down waiting on the right one.

After watching this state tourney if anyone thinks Dominique Hawkins isnt Mr. Bball you dont know the first thing about the sport! D Hawk has put them on his back!!!

Saw the film and it was a foul. The kid held Quans arms down. I was there and didnt think you call that foul with that time until I saw the film and he held him down, didnt give him a chance to jump and tip it. Mistake on that kids part and a foul is a foul no matter when where and all that stuff.

Any injuries in this game? It seems like the other teams in the district have had key injuries and havent heard that either of these teams have.

cooperstown get a college coach behind closed doors and he will tell you a walkon is a walkon there is no money coming. If you are reading all this stuff and a coach is saying it in the paper or magizine he is saying it so he can make the parents happy!!!! Trust me on this one I know several college coaches. The number of walkons that get money is slim in none also. Every now and then a walkon will get money but dont count on it.

Perferred walk on is something that colleges coaches came up with to make it sound better than it really is. The bottom line is if you don't get a grant and aid you are a walk on period that is how it is. They say perferred walk on to make mommy and daddy feel better. It sounds hard but it is true, a walk on is a walk on.

No way Knott Co. seats 5000. Perry seats 3800. Look at other Regions most of them will play at 2 or 3 different sites. And also Powell Co. needs to keep TOL's on the scoreboard, if you are going to host a region tounrey do it right!! That is the bottom line.

There is NO WAY that place seats 3500. And they don't even keep TOL on the scoreboard! That is time outs left if someone that does not know.

Coaching is not like it was 25 years ago when coaches stay somewhere for 30 years. For one thing parents have become so overbearing (if that is how you spell it) that coaches can only stand being somewhere for just a few years. There are exception! How can anybody fault a coach for taking a better job that can be anything (pay, town, county, class work load, people, ADMINISTRATION, location, the basketball coach) there are all kinds of things that the common person doesnt look for. Let me put it this way if any of you can GET A JOB, you first have to be able to get it, that pays better or is a better deal for you tell me you would not take it. If you say no you are either a liar or a fool!! So don't be saying a coach should do things that everybody else is not doing. Hey if that coach has 3 losing season do you think they would fire him, if so what is the difference in him leaving on his own terms.
