  1. Not sure. He was still hospitalized last I heard. Already had a couple of surgeries and more surgery scheduled in the future.
  2. Good question. Why was this game scheduled? Maybe because you schedule games the year in advance in most cases and last year before deployments and changes in the Ft Knox demographics, maybe Ft. Knox had a stronger team. You really don't know until the season starts as to what you are up against. So going into this game knowing that Ft Knox was not a strong team, E-town should have brought their Freshman and let them get some varsity minutes or maybe even cancelled the game, but they didn't and that along with the starters stats and the comments made after the game are what makes this look so bad. What did the E-town players learn in this game. Nothing, as far as improving their skills?
  3. Their father had a siezure while driving them to their game last friday, lost control of the car.
  4. I was glad to see the Who considering the last time I saw them live was at their "final" tour in the mid 80's at Rupp. Maybe one of the reasons they have the older groups play is because they are about the music and are not trying to shock the crowd with some "wardrobe malfunction". Younger artists are about wearing little to nothing and trying to see what they can get away with. Don't get me wrong, I like hip hop and pop music, but when you see them preform or watch their videos it's all booty shakin and sex. Every Beyonce video I have seen lately is the same thing, her scantily clad in 6 inch heels shakin her money maker with a couple girls behind her doing the same. How un-original. Kayne was wrong about her videos! They aren't the best. Lady gaga and pink are recent good examples of this. Maybe the Super Bowl doesn't want another Janet Jackson and JT fiasco and they trust the older acts not to pull a stunt like that.
  5. Parents who move their kids up should realize the disadvantages, such as starting college at a young age as mentioned above. If they choose to move their kids up in spite of this i guess that is their choice. Of the parents I have known who have moved their kids up a year, I think they have regretted it later due to these types of social issues, mostly associated with dating. On the other side, what about a parent who holds their honor roll student back a year in fourth grade saying they are "struggling" in school when everybody knows it's really to gain an advantage in sports. Should those parents have to pay for the extra year so the taxpayers don't? I can understand a kid being held back because they are really struggling or failing classes and tax dollars being used for their education, but an honor roll student....really??
  6. It doesn't suprise me that there are people taht think it's OK to beat a team by 115 points. There are so many things wrong with the world, nothing shocks me anymore. And as far as these people raising children......I won't even go there.
  7. Yea. I didn't realize the question had been answered on that thread until after I posted on this thread. Thanks, though.
  8. I would give him a score of 100%, regardless!
  9. Where has Jewell Rogers been? I agree, without Charisma Payne the Saints were at a disadvantage. She has been a leading scorer for the Saints. I thought that Ciera Payne would also be out for a while. I was a little suprised that she was back on the court so soon.
  10. Anyone know the answer? Was she on the list of injured this season?
  11. Not sure what are you referencing in my previous post but I agree 100% that the game should have been slowed down. As far as the 10th region, I have seen a team (and coach) that has won by 30 points even after playing the subs in and out for most of the game (even when the lead was not that large, maybe only 20 points) crucified on this site the next day when a team that has won by 50 (and left starters in until the last few minutes) not criticized at all. So I'm just saying in the 10th it depends on what school you are as to how public opinion sways. As far as this blowout, what can anyone say? There is really no excuse?
  12. It boosted her confidence....how low was her confidence before this????? How does doing that to a team boost your confidence. If they had any conscience whatsoever they would be embarrassed and ashamed. My favorite comment from the story..."We were mad from the 31 point loss to marion and Ft. Knox just had to take the heat for it." Why does a team that obviously is lacking and an easy win for E-town have to "take the heat" for their previous loss?? Toatl lack of class by the coach and the players as well. If I was a parent of one of these kids, I would be ashamed. I think it's true the players reflect the coach to an extent. I do know a coach who went into a similar game as the dominate team and told the players that "we were going to not humiliate this team so we will use the bench and slow the play down once we have a comfortable lead. Now that coach has some class. That would have been the thing to do here, if you ask me.
  13. It's funny, and I don't know Tim Mudd so this isn't so much a personal comment about him, but I do know a couple of coaches who have put on a pretty good front and make everyone think they are such a good person when in fact they will do some pretty low things when they think know one is watching and in this case, and imo, this one was done while everyone was watching. I agree the coach should have had the e-town girls hold the ball. There is no excuse for what was done here. How sad. As far as the 10th , it just depends on what team you are as to how brutal public opinion would be. I can reference on this site the wins with big margins of victory, and how inconsistant public opinion can be about those wins.
  14. How many points did Greenwell end up with? I know at one point I heard the radio announcers say she had 30. Not sure if that was the third or fourth quarter. Bracken County had no answer for her.
  15. Losing Dionna Ware for the season is a big hit to this team if you ask me. I am pretty sure she played in the first game or two before she had her ankle surgery.
  16. So sorry....Congratualtions Lady Bears! Maybe I should have rephrased that to simply say that St. Pat could have won this game if their free throw shooting was better, but they did have a lot of factors working against them. So yes I guess I am making excuses, but they are legitimate, none the less.
  17. FYI, Mason County hasn't had that round robin tournament at Christmas since 2001. So since Douglas wasn't even coaching then, I find it hard to believe that she pulled out of it at the "last minute'. After that MC was hosting a tournament in early December which St. Pat played in until 2004. If St. Pat pulled out of the early December tourament in 2004, (I say if b/c I don't know why they weren't in it in 2004) then it had nothing to do with coach Dougals since she didn't even start coaching until 2007. So maybe you should do some research before you try to discredit her. As far as the team camp goes, well she isn't coach Orme and he was the one that always played his team in that summer camp. Being that she isn't coach Orme she wanted to change things up a little and play some different competition. Plus that was the summer after Mason County beat St. Pat by fifty leaving their starters in most the game and Chambers in until the last threee minutes, so did she really owe it to Mason County to come play in their oven of a gym in the summer. Lots of teams have pulled out of that summer camp. You yourself said in a previous post on another thread that the Mason County team camp was a joke with only five teams and how hot it was in the fieldhouse.......wan to read that post? #82, I believe. Really a lot of insight into why a team wouldn't play in it... hot gym, no water coolers for hot, dehydrated players..... your thoughts, not mine. Really read it. What a hypocryte. I think you owe coach Douglas an apology. Saying things that aren't remotely true about her..... shame on you! http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?p=3445482#post3445482 Why aren't you raggin' on all the other teams that have dropped out of the summer camp over the last few years? You know, it is obvious that you are not a St. Pat fan but do you really have to lower yourself to insults and inaccuracies about Coach Douglas and her team? Bracken County was very lucky to have won that game last night. If you want to be happy for them, then be happy but quit being a sore winner.
  18. They had one really good one at the end when Klee hit her foul shots making it a 1 point game with 16.7 sec on the clock. But when the ball was inbounded, St. Pat fouled BC in the backcourt, strangely there was only 6 sec. on the clock. So shouldn't that have been a 10 second call if Bracken had not crossed the line yet? Where did that 10 seconds on the clock go? Not making excuses, St Pat could have won this game at the FT line when the refs finally started calling some fouls under their basket, but their shots weren’t falling. But really, if you are going to host a tournament that results in a team advancing to the next level, shouldn't you be required to have responsible adults running the clock and not the younger brother of a Sophomore BC player? I will say that I still think St Pat is the better team but BC got a lot of breaks. Referees probably not calling the fouls on them they should have because they were tired of having to explain each one to Coach K. They came ready and rested after only playing two games through the week that they didn't have to put much effort into at all (yet another break for BC). I wasn't at the first game but I'm guessing they played their subs a lot at that one too. Not much "pressure" in their schedule this past week.
  19. I'm pretty sure the boys went twice in the late 90's or so.
  20. Brossart seemed to pick up where St. Pat left off at the half. Shots wouldn't for the Saints in the first half. Brossart shooting off in the second half. Congrats Lady Saints! Good Luck on Saturday.
  21. As an outsider looking in, I don't see where anyone has tried to discredit any high school kid. I think the question is being asked of the coaches. Last time I checked the players weren't able to check themselves in and out of a game, so subbing in the reserves would be the coaches decision.
  22. I have three children and I know about that invisible fourth child. His name is "Not Me". You will hear it often. For example when you ask "who made this mess?" the answer you will get is "Not Me'. I would always respond with who is this "Not Me" person living in my house and does he have a Social Security number so I can claim him as a deduction on my taxes?
