On each of the bolded....I have to say I agree.

That first sentence says a lot considering Carmack was injured in the pre-season and didn't play all season or much, if any, the season before. I do think she will come back strong but after two years lost, how strong? Will her style of play be more reserved so as not to risk another injury? We'll see. I think to rate her in the top twenty after missing two seasons is a little odd, though. It really hurts Demling's credibility as far as I'm concerned to say he based his rankings on games he watched last season when his number 17 pick didn't even play a regular season game. And it is nothing personal, I think Kelsey Carmack is a great player and a great kid. Maybe I am the only one who thinks it's odd? Maybe he means the top few spots....maybe those are the players he watched play several games? IDK?

On the first bolded....you titled your thread "hard feelings continue".....really!!!!!!!!! Are you referring to someone else other than yourself having hard feelings? If so maybe you should have clarified that in your post. On the second bolded....I think (just my opinion) the non-scheduling of the last two seasons probably had to do with St. Patrick defeating Mason by thirty in the district opener in 2008. Seems there was a lot of hard feelings after that game and that's when Mason would no longer schedule a regular season game with St Pat. So where do the bad feelings on the St Pat end come into play? Heck their (St Pat) coach has asked a different Mason County player to play with a summer team consisting of several St Pat players for the last two summers and the St Pat players didn't seem to mind. Doesn't seem like there are are too many "hard feelings" on the St. Pat side. I would guess if you asked those MC players they will tell you that they enjoyed playing on those teams and did not experience any "hard fellings" from the St Pat players.

Yes there are exceptions to that rule. I am not saying that this is the case here. I do know Catholic schools have place where students apply for tuition assistance money and if they quailify the money is payed from this outside source to the school. Something like a United Way type of fund but for Catholic Schools. So the school still gets their money for the student. I have to say that the title of this thread is a little misleading..... the "hard fellings" part. I think just because a student changes schools doesn't mean that there are hard feelings between the schools? Is it just some people can't (or won't) understand that maybe a teenage girl or her family wants a change whether it be for education, or athletics, whatever their reason(s)? That is their decision for whatever reason. I do know that Likins did play for a week this summer on a team with some St. Patrick players, Fleming County players an NDA player and an NCC player because they needed more players to enter a team camp and they invited her to play with them, as they did with Menke the year before.

I was unaware that after June 1 the rule changed. I thought the 2 player rule was in effect all summer. Good to know!! On another note and not to change the subject.....I was suprised at the OHSAA academic requirements for playing high school sports. You only have to have a passing grade in 70% or 75% of your classes. So if I am doing the math correctly, you can be failing 2 out of 8 classes (if you are taking 8 classes) and still play ball. So that would be another thread........

Did NKU already hold their team camp? If so does anyone know who participated and/or have any results?

I see what you mean by the lop-sided match-ups, but since it is summer camp do you really know who has what? There were teams there I thought would be tougher competition but with AAU, vacations, etc. they weren't the copmpetition I thought they'd be. On another note, if I had a team that wasn't considered "weak" I would welcome the chance to play a "strong" to get my players the experience of playing tougher teams. Summer camp would be the time since it doesn't really count for anything. If you notice just about everybody agrees that you can't really judge a team during summer camp due to the other obligations and activities of players who aren't playing in some match-ups with their school team. With that said, were there any big blow-outs at Thomas More? Games where a team won by more than 20 or 25 points?

Even at that, there are 14 varsity teams that are there every night and since each team is playing 8 games total there should still be more than enough teams that you wouldn't play the same team twice and on the nights that there are more than 14 teams the pool would be bigger, lessening the chances of a repeat. I'm sure it's not easy scheduling the games for the week, but it seems there should be a way to avoid repeat games.

Does JV also pay an entry fee? That could be one reason. I know a couple of schools have smaller teams and my not have enough players to have two teams. Some teams may have girls playing AAU or on vacations so they may be playing their jv players with their varsity to fill the bench. Now I have a question.....looking over the schedule I noticed that there are a couple of games where two teams meet up for the second time, for example, NewCath palyed Mercy on Monday and they will play again on Thursday and the same goes for St Pat and Conner. With 20 teams in the camp, why would any teams have to play each other twice? I know that Conner played St Pat twice last week at Cooper and I would think they would want to get a chance to play some different competition for their money.

Don't you mean people cut, not positions? In other words, people were cut for whatever reason but the position will be filled again?

Someone told me that they saw a couple of school's buses in front of the girls gym yesterday and they thought they were having it this week. So did they have something going on there yesterday? I thought they were planning on having one. What happened?

So if Conner, Gallatin, Carroll, and St Patrick all won both games then that means Dayton, VMA, Scott, and Cooper lost both games. So that should wrap up the first nights results.
