  1. I find it hard to believe that any coach would play a kid in this situation. Yes, the T offense hasn't been clicking on all cylinders, but to endanger the future of a kid would be foolish. Quick has given T everything that he has. I'm sure that he wants to play. He sees whats going on with the offense. He wants to win another Championships. In my opinion the rumor of him playing may be a ploy to get PRP's attention. T's coaches need to come up with a gameplan to win. Without Quick!
  2. I would agree 100% that a JV game is by no means a barometer for the next level. It is a feather in Central's cap. However, I do hope that we stop with the nonsense talk. EXAMPLE Tinity"s JVs #2 in the state. We lost because they used Varsity starters. Trinity played Central at the JV level and lost. The End
  3. Not many college programs will offer a scholarship without seeing a kid in person. Thus, assistants showing up at combines. I believe a younger player(frosh, soph) needs to get concrete test results at a combine(independant from the coach's numbers). When they reach their Junior year they need to attend camps that are offered by the Universities that they are interested in attending. The recruiting process really heats up during their Junior year. Of course highlight films will also be reviewed.
  4. Let it be known that Coach Henley wasn't the choice of the AD. He was overruled in this hire. Rumor has it that the AD wanted to hire a Middle School Coach. Coach Henley has a State Championship on his resume(Holmes). Good Luck!!! Big Shoes to fill!
  5. Believe me when I tell you, his decision had NOTHING to do with kids in program. Eastern has lost a ton of coaches lately. His decision has everything to do with what he had mentioned in his interview. Don't think other 7th region teams played a factor. Afterall, he can still lose kids to Trinity.
  6. Nice job of reading. Football coach resigned after a 10-3 season. Seems like a bunch of coaches have left there recently.
  7. Any chance on filling that 10th game? Is there still talk of playing Don Bosco?
  8. According to a former Eastern Asst coach the new coach is [b]Stephan Ruckman. He coached at Atherton and Iroquis. He coached a few years in Florida and New Orleans. Not sure of Head Coach experience.
  9. Illinois Freshman TE Jon Davis earned a spot on the Big 10 All- Freshmen Football team(per BTN.com). Jon is a 2011 graduate of Eastern High School. He led all freshmen Big 10 TEs in receptions. Congrats to a very deserving young man.
  10. Ballard is 1-1. They beat Fern Creek last week. They should be able to handle OC this week.
  11. That is a 3 level sweep JV Eastern 35-12 Frosh Eastern 7-6
  12. The most obvious advantage was stated earlier. Trinity does not have to adhere to Title IX regulations. The can spend their funds however they choose. Highlands must adhere to Federal Law.
  13. Coach J.......Being someone familiar with the Eastern program, I am sure Coach Whalen and the guys will be honored with your assessment. Still they lost a bunch of three year starters(two signing major D1 schollies). Agree with your point on middle school kids. Believe that 7 different private schools were represented on Eastern's Freshman team last year. As far as playing Trinity, heres a thought. Why would anyone in 6A want to play them twice in a season? According to most it would be a monumental victory beating them ONCE. About the only tool that a heavy underdog would have is the element of surprise. Why allow them to be familiar with your team? Try to be better for 48 mins.
  14. Eastern just knocked off Ballard 3-2 to move into 7th region championship
  15. Funny when Woods hit 4 of 6 3 pointers in the regional finals it was a great move to leave him on the arc. When he missed a couple vs CC Coach Couch is an idiot. I believe that going 33-3 is pretty impressive. Congrats to CC on winning state, armchair point guards are a dime a dozen.
  16. Eastern knows Bullitt East very well. They played and beat them twice this year(KOB,LIT). I truly doubt that they will sneak up on Eastern if they happen to meet in the finals. Eastern will NOT take them lightly.
  17. Eastern travels to Scott Co. and comes away with a good win. They lost last game when taking a weekday trip. Back to back wins at Ballard and at Scott Co. Overcame subpar performances by Marks and Woods. They are making their foul shots. Playing good ball just in time for districts.
  18. Or maye an over reaction to one game. Afterall, they do have 20 wins and a KOB championship
  19. I do believe that Harry Cross a starting guard did not not play.
  20. Heard that doc cleared Jtown's Price to resume basketball activities. Anyone?
  21. May be more of a parental issue than a school issue.
  22. What is the status of J-town's Price? Heard a crazy rumor that Pitino has asked Morrow to shut him down for the rest of the season because of injury. Anybody know anything?
  23. Eastern High School Sr. Nick Bennett will receive the Anthony Munoz Foundation Kentucky O-Lineman of the Year Award. Nick will attend the March 3rd banquet in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bennett is the first Louisville area player to receive this award. He will sign commitment papers to attend West Point(Army) to continue his career. Congrats to Nick and the Eastern Staff!
