  1. First of all, congrats to HHS. But, please escuse my ignorance, where is Trotwood from? How big of school are they etc., etc.
  2. IMO, I don't think the number of A's of a given school tend to matter much in NKY except for CCH, Highlands and maybe Ryle on the high side and Dayton, Bellevue and Ludlow on the low side. In another words, a lot of small schools are pretty competitive regardless of size. So, the fact that Dayton beat Holmes and Scott would not influence my decision to a material degree. Although I love an underdog, I don't think the Green Devils can compete with the red and white Tigers, even though the Tigers do not seem to be playing at the level they are expected to ...yet. (?) Tigers 35 Devils 7 with 8 minutes left in the 3rd.
  3. Speaking of which, why do parents send their kids to a larger or an "out of district" school? A. because the parent(s) went there B. a catholic (if the school is a catholic school) education C. better curriculum D. I think my kid has better chance at a scholarship at a particular school
  4. Such a low scoring game... great D or what's the story??? A number of the other frosh games were blow-outs. Who are the RB's for CCH?
  5. I remember the late 70's when these schools were 3A rivals - correct me if I am wrong. Now NCC is a 2A school and CCH is... what, a 5A school in the current system? If so, I'll go with the 2A Breds by 3, which was calculated by the very complicated formula (5A - 2A = 3) I don't think CCH will "butter the breds" this year.
  6. I happen to be watching the LSU / Miss State game and caught a pretty catching cheer from LSU...Geaux you tigers!! So, I guess it is, in the spirit of LSU, GO YOU (red and white) TIGERS!!! But, on the college level my CATS will beat LSU
  7. Beechwood 35 Lloyd 0
  8. "Not so fast my friend" the Red Colonels got beat by a good team.
  9. Nothing. I was referring to the overture that Dixie lost to a 1A school and how that shouldn't happen. I don't know if kids are in better shape based on the size of the school... the coach makes that difference.
  10. Well, yes and no. It must be hard to keep kids in the program of some schools. Take for example that big 8th grader who was at turkeyfoot middle school (Dixie feeder school) and moved to Ft. Thomas. A couple of those kids can make a difference in a program. Plus, schools, like Bwood, have a tradition of winning and they attract kids as well.
  11. Is Boone that good or is Beechwood that bad??? Good question. If this is the best Beechwood team, where does that put BCHS? Good luck to the Rebels, take the state champ crown!!!
  12. Sounds like the Knights did well last year. I've heard some rumblings that they are going to be very strong next year and may have enough talent to go from (14's last year) to 16's next year???
  13. Great organization... Thanks for being there for the kids! VERY:cool:
  14. It looks like Beechwood has some solid talent coming up. I watched their "frosh" play in a tourney at CCHS today. They came in third, and I say "frosh" because I heard they had two 8th, one 7th and one 6th grader on the floor every game. To boot, the younger Snyder (sp) an 8th grader does not play frosh.
  15. Does Cottingham's dad first name start with "D"??
  16. By no measure is this a cut on the kid, but I watched a lot of NKYFL senior games last year, including several Spartans games and I don't remember him running over a lot of kids. He does have the one thing you can't teach though... size. If he gets the "killer instinct"... watch out. My kid said the hardest to tackle, by a large margin above everyone else, in recent NKYFL history was Simpson for the Raiders, Kelly and Buzzy for CCRD, Tywan ?? (sp) for BT and some 15 yr old (maybe 16) from NFF. After having seen all of those kids run the ball, I think he is correct. What schools did they go to?
  17. Congrats Cody!! Would have loved to see you at UK. But I guess you could have guessed that by my BGP name.
  18. If he is going to be 14's next year check out the N KY Hitmen, they play in the SWOL American league. A lot of the kids are from Taylor Mill and the Coach is Todd Fuller.... look it up in the phone book or look for an notice in the paper in the wekends to come. Other 14's for 2008 are the N KY Legends and N KY Kanes. Good luck!
  19. (14 through 16 year olds) For the kids coming up through the ranks, what summer team should they play for in the various KY areas? Who (which teams) are looking for players in 2008?
  20. Bluegrass Knights (14's) run-ruled the Midland Tribe in 6 innings tonight. Way to go Knights!
  21. Good point... this guy has more than one line. The most motivational lines are not only printable but end up as an icon on a locker room wall. Regardless of the tone, I would love to hear it.
  22. WOW, losing record coming into post season... I would love to hear what this coach said to his team to get them motivated.
