What happened was...when Corbin's Josh Smith fell to the floor hard and was shaken up on play, one of Whitley's female fans (player's mother) heckled Smith. When Coach P went out on the floor to check on Smith, he looked at her and she made a gesture back to him in poor taste. We know that all Whitley fans does not condone this show of classless behavior.

Remember...these forums are about people's opinions. Lets not take it personal if someone disagrees with our opinion. We can all agree, just as Les said, that the 13th region is wide open, and this is coming from a Redhound fan! Things are shaping up so that this years tournament is going to be the most competitive in recent history, if not ever.

To the person who keeps harping on who is or is not a "holdback"... you dont know the rules. As long as a player turns 19 after August 1 of his senior year, he/she is eligible to play. If your little Johnny is playing against kids who are a year older, its the you the parents' fault for not giving your kid the best oppurtunity available. Besides the strength and mental confidence that the extra year gives a kid, why not try to keep your child at home one more year before he/ she heads out into the college world? The extra year of maturity and guidance from home , is invaluable.

predictions for the repeat at Corbin...with Crawford? It could be embarrassing. Corbin by alot. SL cant slow it down enough to matter and St John will repeat with foul trouble. Corbin can pick the score. It should be this way for a 3 year run, just like SL has had.

St John gets into foul trouble early thus taking away SL's height advantage. Corbin will "take it to him early", IMO.

Clay won.

Corbin wins 62-58. St John gets a block or two early on but will not be a factor.

Sat Dec 8 at a Whitley Co. tournament. Corbin plays Pineville and probably South Laurel. Several freshmen teams are going to participate. Mon Dec 10 Clay Co comes to Corbin. Clay has been the team to beat so far in freshman ball. :thumb:

I would assume that Mason's experienced freshmen are playing on JV?

I thought Coach P showed some class by going deep into the bench with nearly 4 minutes to play while up by 30. At the same time, Whitley kept most of their starters in until about a 1 minute to go. This is why the score ended up being only an 18 point game.

Corbin now has their football players back which gives them one more player with size and did beat South Laurel in a rematch on Saturday. South does have a team with good all around size and should be much improved later on in the season as coach Hammonds is an excellent coach. SL seemed to have trouble guarding the post but did have a good half court trap defense.

I cant believe Mason lost this game to Lex Cath unless some of its players have been pulled up to play JV/ Varsity. Mason's freshamn team is one of the most experienced, talented group of players around. I have seen this team along with Coach Gilbert, play since the kids were 3rd graders...and win!

Whitley will have big trouble with ball handling against Corbin's press on Friday. It should be over early and substitutions start early. Corbin by 20 but could be 40 if Coach P keeps the pedal to the metal. :sleep:

Dave and his wife provides a wonderful service to all of us looking to have our kids participate in something beneficial. I know for a fact that Dave will not turn any team away due to entry fees...he will make sure your team plays and in a safe and comfortable atmosphere.

Your opinion has got to be based upon more than the simple fact that you want Cumberland to win or you have a son or relative playing there. Coach Wright and Pietrowski have been walking the walk, consistently. Having said that...Cumberland, this year, will be a team to watch out for and will battle for a trip to RUPP.
