Billy Clyde Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Could the 10th Region possibly have the strongest freshman class in the state? Clark Co. has Robbies Stenzel and two other young men I can't recall their names. Mason Co. with Pawsatt and Setty and Deming has Luke and Kyle King. I know there are other freshman in the region that are contributing to their teams. These are just some that I have seen this year and are very impressed with. Can you name any others and what do you think about this class of young men?
SkipToMyLou Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Mason also has Gilbert. I believe he's pretty tough.
StepYoGameUp Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 I think Harrison Co. has some pretty good freshman?
ShootingGuard20 Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 I heard the king twins are a little old to be a freshman. is this true?
Deep 3 pointer Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Paris has a solid freshman group from what Ive seen. Were 6-2 going into Saturday. Those only two losses were to Clark County. Maybe Im just partial being a Greyhound parent. Two of those freshman get good minutes on the varisty who is not real strong. Clark Co's Stenzel is a very good player and he's got a couple of good freshman to go with him. I hear Mason is loaded.
DHS White Chocolate Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I heard the king twins are a little old to be a freshman. is this true? What is a little old to be freshmen? The King twins have never been held back and have not failed any grades, they are true 15 year old freshmen. I know there parents very well and they would be more than willing to show you a birth certificate to prove there age. I hope this helps to end any of the false hood of there age. :fire:

gold sunrise Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 GRC actually has 5 Freshman that dress/play varsity. Then we have a full roster of players that play on the Freshman team. Of the 5 that are on varsity, 2 start, Robby Stenzel and Cory Rogers. Travis Pervis gets major PT at center and power forward. This possibility could be the best class to come out of GRC. Time will tell.
Billy Clyde Posted January 7, 2008 Author Posted January 7, 2008 Why does everyone always want to question the King twins age? They are 15 years old and will be 15 the entire basketball season. I'm pretty sure Mason Co. has some Freshman that have been held back. But yet we don't hear much fuss over that. The Stenzel kid from Clark Co. was held back. But we don't hear much fuss over that either.
team america 54 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Deming also has a point guard that is a freshmen.
team america 54 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Deming has a freshman point gaurd Jonthan Caldwell that plays alot to.

This has never bothered me at all and is not a big deal. All of these boys will be 15 throughout the school year and will probably turn 16 in the summer. So realistically they will be driving before they start their sophomore years and will graduate at 18 and a half if you will, not a big deal.
mcpapa Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Is Cory Rogers a transfer from Fleming County? If so when did this happen? Is he related to some Rogers girls that play for Clark County girls team? I think he's related to her and to Robelle Rogers, who graduated last year from Clark County. GS would know for sure. Of the three schools talked about the most in terms of their freshman class, the guys from Clark and Deming are the most "battle-tested" at this point. Mason's frosh are slowly but surely getting their minutes at the varsity level; it's just hard for them to expect a lot of PT given Mason's starting lineup.
