That means Trevor Setty is a great teammate. Although he entered the playing floor, one could assume that he wasnt going to start a fight, rather to make sure his teammate was ok. From what I have seen from Trevor this year on the basketball court, he isnt looking to cause trouble. Some claim that Holmes is the victim, but I think the victim is Trevor and his family. Being given 6 hours to prepare mentally for the biggest game of your life, and then learning 1 hour before the game that you arent playing, must have been devastating. I wasnt able to talk to the family before the game, but from what I heard throughout the stadium, they were taking the situation hard. It was wrong for the KHSAA to declare a ruling before all the facts were straight. But Im not looking to blame the KHSAA in this situation or anyone for that matter. If the officials felt Trevor was out of hand then they should have ejected him from the semi-final game. Without being ejected, I dont see how you could say he is unable to play in the following game. One could assume what might have happened, but we will never know. Im glad Trevor got to play, and I felt it was the correct decision. Congrats to Trevor on a great high school career, a state championship ring, memories for a lifetime, and good luck wherever you decide to continue to play.

This was my first year of truly getting to follow Mason Co. and I loved it. Its hard for me to believe what these boys have accomplished at such a young age. I want to congragulate them and wish them the best of luck next year. For Mr. Setty, I loved watching him play this year and would love to see him get the chance to play at UK with his good friend Darius. Wherever he goes, I wish him the best of luck. I was glad he got to play and feel it would have been very unfair to keep him from playing. I know what the rule states, but if he doesnt get ejected, he should not be kept from playing. I'm sure it was a very difficult day on him and his family until the final buzzer rang. And although I am not a big fan of UK, I will follow them closely the next 4 years and hope to see Darius become a great collegiate player. He has dominated the high school level for the most part, and I hope he can do the same beyond high school. IMO, and the opinion of many others, congratulations on MR KENTUCKY BASKETBALL.:thumb: Holmes had a very good ball team and IMO, were the most athletic team there. Arrez Henderson (SP?) was probably the best athlete there, and the best defensive player. Im sure Holmes was somewhat tired, but the better team won. Congratulations to both teams on great years, and I think we have seen why Kentucky Basketball is the best to watch. Lets hope the allow all teams in the state to win a STATE Championship, and not a CLASS Championship.

Mason Co. wins by 10. Miller shows why, IMO, he will win Mr. Basketball.

So who were the playes that made the all-tourney team? I couldnt make it to the finals, does anyone have a list?

I got my tickets, and I believe they are in the same section. This will only be my second year attending.

Freshman or not, someone is going to have to step up and stop him for them to win. And IMO, Timmy Knipp is not able to stop Darius Miller, inside or out. But I think it is inside where Darius has the advantage. Honestly, Darius has an advantage on just about anyone anywhere on the floor.

Yeah, just going by what I have heard. Does she hold another position with probably a little more prominence?

Jonathon Ferguson for Elliott Co. would have to be considered one of the top juniors in the state tournament.

I have heard that one of the players involved has a parent working multiple positions within the school. They arent just a teacher, they also hold a position over all of the athletic programs. Its hard for me to believe that they would give that up, but then again, nothing suprises me from this school.

T Knipp couldnt handle the strength of Darius in the post. Darius is strong enough to back Knipp down and then just dunk over top of him. Knipp is capable of guarding someone who likes to fade away. He is long enough to block a player who goes that route, but cannot guard someone with Darius's strength and jumping ability.

David vs. Goliath Rd. 2 This deals more with county and tradition then size of the school. Elliott Co. cant stop Darius, and I think they could even have a hard time stopping someone like Neal Pawsat or anyone for that matter that can play in the post. Although Elliott is more physical then other teams in the 16th, the 10th is just a tad bit more physical. Mason wins this game, gives there freshman a little bit of experience playing at Rupp, should be a very fun game to watch with the expected size of the crowds. Mason by 21.

This was a very physical game, no doubt. There were different things each team did on the floor that was probably ill mannered. All I will say about that. Mason Co. played a good game all around and when playing good team ball such as they did last night, they will be difficult to beat. I like watching Mason Co. play and hope to see them make a deep run in the tournament. Darius Miller, IMO, is the best TEAMMATE in the state. Although he usually gets his 20 & 10, he makes everyone around him better. Ive not seen another player who can drive to the basket, get his shoulders square and pull up from 10 feet as well as he can. I look forward to watching him along with Trevor Setty, Russ Middleton, and the rest of the Mason Co. Royals playing in Rupp Arena next week. Best of luck Royals.:ylsuper:

Yeah thats probably true. Just as long as the schools make their money, they dont care if people have to sit on the rafters to watch the game.

In the 16th, officials work with different officials each night. It would be nice if they could keep a group of officials together for the season and they travel to different places around the region. That way, officials could become very familiar with each other.

That would really be disapointing if we got to the game with tickets and then get turned away at the door.

If I have a ticket, am I guaranteed to get into the gym? I wont be able to make it until right before the game starts so im just wanting to make sure I wont have to watch the game in a classroom. I have a ticket, so does anyone know if I will be guaranteed a seat? Thanks.

And congrats to Elliott Co., you must turn right back around and play a very difficult game tonight. The boys are fun to watch when they get to playing good team ball.

I dont understand why Rose Hills offense revolves around Dakotah Euton. I understand he is a very good ball player, but IMO, I think Jackson is the better of the two. Euton isnt affraid to pull from anywhere, and often times makes many of those 25-30 footers, but last night, his shots werent falling. Euton and Jackson scored the same amount of points, and Jackson took 10 less shots then Euton. Both are going to be very good players, but I feel for the teams sake, the two should take nearly the same amount of shots. (And yes, I realize Euton got fouled often)

Although the 16th region officials tend to do a poor job, I thought last nights officiating in the Elliott Co./Rose Hill game was some of the worst I have seen in a long time. Coming from an unbiased opinion, I couldnt believe some of the calls that were made and some that were not made. There was one trip down the floor where J. Ferguson got a rebound and attempted to put the ball back in and got absolutely murdered and nothing was called. When Rose Hill took the ball back down the floor, Chad Jackson pulled up to shoot a three, made the basket, got hit (barely), and got a foul called. I dont understand how the officials could call the fould on Rose Hills end and not make the call at Elliott Co's end. This is just one example of the many poor calls made last night. I dont know if I would say the officiating decided the outcome of the game, but it was some of the most inconsistent officiating from a crew I've ever seen. (Again, Im from neither of these areas, just there to watch a good game, and it was, but thought I would let my opinion be known)

Im going to take East by 20. I watched both teams play the first round games, and from my perspective East has way to many players that can come in and contribute quality minutes, where as Ashland didnt play more than 6, maybe 7 players. East will run them down and come out on top.

Its really hard for me to believe that players are going to leave the Ashland area to play ball at another school. This would have to be a first! :lol:
