They have some really good guards, but they will need someone to step up to help Brooke Perkins in the post. I dont think they have anyone who can do that, so they will have trouble when she's in foul trouble or fatigued.

Take a basketball player and make him an average golfer. Im not saying golf produces the best athletes (although I would argue that Tiger Woods is one of the greatest athletes of all time), but golf might be the most difficult sport to play. For this argument, I will say basketball (out of "the big 3") produces the best athletes.

This is quite comical. :laugh: There will be a big drop off after this years seniors graduate.

The Lewis Co. program is really struggling. I understand they have a new coach, but the have to be nearly last in the state in scoring. Obviously they are struggling at the high school level, but they must start to develop players and find a way to keep kids interested at the elementary and middle school level if they want to get any better.

Hes a heck of a player and will continue to improve with experience and the weight room. I watched a freshman game of his this year and he dominated (granted it was against a bad opponent). He will step in at tail back next year and be something to watch for the next 3 years.

IMO Mason has more athletes but Russell will control time of possession. Mason wins by a TD.

I think his 6th grade year he attended Lewis Co. and played 8th grade as well as freshman/jv ball. He only stayed for a year.

You are correct and I completly agree. But I'm seventy five percent confident that in all these cases the kid had the choice. With Mason County being so prestigous, how could they not choose to go there?

I know that the seventh grader and freshman they are speaking of both transferred to Mason County. But i am unsure of the third, if i had to guess i would say that he is now a freshman at Trinitiy High School. Other than that have no clue whom the third could be.

IMO moves are made to give the kids the best opportunity to succeed. If parents feel the kids have a better chance to succeed and the kids want to transfer then this is the best thing for the situation. The kid whose a freshman has a good chance do great things at his new school. Lewis Co. doesnt get the attention or attract the scouts like other schools do.

He did and is supposed to be out 6-8 weeks which will put him coming back in the middle to late December.

Witten is out. From what I hear, Fleming Co. has suffered many injuries as well this season. Probably an ugly game, but I'm going to give Fleming the advantage.

I think most would prefer them to get beat by 40 if they put some points on the board. Andy Downing had a great season last year in the spread offense and they switch the system and they have no offense. And J.T. Britt would help the offense, but they have some receivers with a lot of talent in Cole Cooper and Blake Kilgore.

He must become more aggressive, quicker, and a better ball handler. He's 6'8" but plays like a 2-guard because he doesnt attack the basket. If he could develop a quicker 1st step and be able to drive past a defender to the basket then we could be talking about him being a 5-star player. Hes good, but there are always small things that can improve to make you that much better.

Ive not seen many Louisville players play. My list was based only on players Ive seen. I hope to see more of the top players play this year, if I'm lucky, they'll come to Lexington.

Lewis Co. started back-up QB junior Caleb Enix. Starter Andy Downing has a broken hand and played RB. From what I understand, freshman RB Mackenzie Maglone (sp?) got quite a bit of pt. Many thought as a freshman he wasnt ready for varsity action.

Likely West will return to the playoffs. Congrats to them. Lewis continues to struggle.

I have figured out what it takes to make a rivalry, and that is both teams have to be able to win. The only thing Lewis Co. is a able to beat Mason Co. at is baseball. I guess I can understand the rivalry with West in basketball but how long has it been since they have beat them in football?

I dont really think this is what started the rivalry between these two teams. I know Connor and his family very well and I think this was the best decision for him and his basketball career. I think its just the fact that they are bordering counties, and Tollesboro was a big rivalry for Mason Co. when it was around and it no longer is so Lewis Co. has to fill the void. This is completely off topic, so Im going to get back on and say West Carter will wins by two touchdowns. And I wasnt aware that Lewis/West was a rivalry. What does it take anymore to call it a rivalry?

If you have to beat the champion, then you must beat Raceland. Lewis Co. isnt the champion. Both teams will have to go through Raceland IMO.
