West Carter 20 Lewis Co. 14

Likely West will return to the playoffs. Congrats to them. Lewis continues to struggle.

Congrats to Coach Kevin Brown and crew!:thumb:

Lewis Co. started back-up QB junior Caleb Enix. Starter Andy Downing has a broken hand and played RB. From what I understand, freshman RB Mackenzie Maglone (sp?) got quite a bit of pt. Many thought as a freshman he wasnt ready for varsity action.

Many that said it were probably right. But as Yogi once said "you got to play with what you've got to play with!" I hope the freshman that are being rushed into action stay safe this season.

Congrats to Coach Brown and the Comets for another postseason birth!

First off...... The player of the game was Tyler Price. The kid had the game of his life, rushing td, receiving td, and a lot of return yardage. McKenzie did have a lot of P.T., including a touchdown. He's the toughest runner we've got, even though he's a frosh. He's not gonna be a 200 yard a game rusher, but if he can run the ball for 4 or 5 yards a carry like he did tonight it would be outstanding. Puckett had a good game passing and running the ball. Lewis had some good plays tonight, it just seems like they only run about 4 or 5 plays. Both teams had chances to win the game. ALOT of questionable decisions tonight!!! West should have put the game away early, and were lucky to hold on for the win. All in all, a wins a win, congrats to the Comets.

Congrats to Andy Downing (offensive mvp) and Jake Bolander (defensive mvp) this game was the 27th annual Paul Westerfield bowl. MVP's are given for two Lewis Co players as well as an MVP from the visiting team. Andy had a good game recieving and running the ball. Jake finished the game with 2 sacks, 5 tackles for a loss, along with 8 additional tackles. He lived in west's backfield. Lewis did have a couple chances to win this game and yes it does seem like they run 5 or 6 plays. We hope they can get this transition behind them and win a couple of games.
