Good news on Doug, I just got back from the first Boone/Cooper game and talked to Doug after the game, his wrist is just sprained and he is playing again, he looked good at the plate and in the field as usual. He said he gets an occasional twinge but is thrilled to be playing again. Awesome player and kid!

Pugh I would agree with, but also Sam came a long way toward becoming a better hitter last summer. Defensively, I don't believe anybody is close.

I spoke to him about a week ago and he said the shoulder is still bothering quite a bit. He is still rehabbing it to be ready for this year, and said he probably won't play summer ball. He is very disgusted. The young man can surely hit the baseball.

Oh and by the way, I believe I said they were interested in him, not that they were ready to sign him today. And for Sam's sake, hopefully none of the D1 programs that are interested in him contact you for your expert opinion.

And we enjoyed you being there and it was very nice to get to know TOG. By no means am I saying there is not room for improvement. Sam is one of the hardest working, most competitive kids, not to mention very coachable and I have no doubt that he will do nothing but improve. The best news is that he knows what he needs to work on and will.

I agree with almost everything you said, he is a tremendous defensive catcher with a scary arm, picked several runners off the bases as well as throwing a good percentage out. He actually hit the ball pretty well this summer, a lot of big clutch hits and I look for him to have a big year in high school play. Don't know if he will have enough help for HHS to contend though, hopefully I'm wrong. He is an incredible kid who will be playing for the Bluegrass Chiefs and Coach Rob Sanders next summer. I know Xavier's coach was very impressed with him after seeing him as well as several other schools as well. Coach Sanders will help him tremendously in finding a good fit. The Chiefs other catcher next summer is young Mr. Cottingham, two great arms there.

What a ridiculous thing to say! Matt is a great kid with a ton of heart and worked very hard to make this happen. Making a quality program like NKU and having the opportunity to play D-II college baseball is a huge accomplishment. What a low class statement to make. Get your facts straight before you speak.

Daniel Hammons of the Bluegrass BUZZ throws a complete game no-hitter in a 1-0 loss to the Cincinnati Future Stars. Two walks, a throwing error on a pick off attempt and a wild pitch scored the games only run.

The score was 4-0, and Sainola was very impressive.

I also heard that Luke and Jeramie Connor from NewCath were both named to the Kentucky Senior All-Star Game. Nice accomplishment for two fine young men and super players.

Ease up on this CCH team. This team had an incredible year with some outstanding individual seasons. It just goes to show that's why they play the games and congrats to Bob and his team. Especially Nathan Snyder, what an incredible big game performance.

I was told that he had just thrown against NCC a couple of days earlier and was still sore from that. And may have also needed another day of rest by rule.

The catcher for Ryle is Cody Meier, unless he is hurt and there is another Rieder, Cory Rieder graduated last year.

Rawe was safe at 1st. The turning point could have been with a runner on 3rd for NCC the NCC hitter requested time. The umpire did not grant the hitter timeout yet the pitcher in the middle of his delivery stopped and held the ball. This is clearly a balk but the homeplate umpire said no????? Shawn Meyer did a great job on the mound for the breds and Rawe, Connor and Kelly got it done in the end.

I just received the e-mail from his mother. Congratulations to Daniel, this has been a long process he has gone through to decide which school to attend. He made a fine choice and I am sure he will succeed. Congratulations to not only him but his Mother and family. After the season he just had, he deserves it.

I think was especially the pattern for the Rebels when Neeley was pitching. I believe there were several times he was taken out after the 6th with a lead, which was lost more often than not.

I was kind of thinking the same score just didn't post it earlier. No one is disrespecting the Tigers just giving opinions and NCC has always come out pretty strong in tournament play

NCC has to many offensive weapons and Connor will be throwing so I'll take NCC.

I heard that he would be attending Thomas More. Has anyone else heard anything like that?
