I agree about Stith. IMO, she would have to be one of the top 7 or 8 in the region if not higher. Unsure where this info comes from.

Why is it shocking? They return a lot of experience along with GC, CC and HC. IMO, this is the most even the All A has been in the past few years. W'town is one of about 5 or 6 teams that can win it. The winner will be the team that gets hot for a week of play. It will be very interesting.

That is good to hear. Courtney is a great kid and a really good athlete. I wish her success this year (unless she is playing the Lady Demons)!!!

How is the Sandlin girl from Williamstown playing? I heard she may possibly return to Williamstown in 2008-2009. She would be a huge addition to the Lady Demons. CP24, have you heard anything?

I ran into Coach Wilhoit tonight and he seemed very pleased with their play at Georgetown. Lost 3 games (Meade Co. by 2, Trimble by 1 as Trimble shot lights out and lost to Male by 1) by a total of 4 points. They beat West Carter in 2 OT's, Logan Co., Pendleton and Trimble Co. He did say Stith, Wilhoit and West played well offensively for him and the team played harder as they have ever played. His main concern is who will start in the 5th position. They go to TMC next week.

If the transfer does happen, that will be 2 in the last 2 years from the same AAU team that is coached by a Walton parent. Wonder if the KHSAA will start investigating the situation.

Who will handle the point guard duties now? Could a transfer in be looming?

I think it will depend on how the parents accept the new coaches and the decisions that they make for the team. Dixon will be a force, but from there, where will the consistant scoring come from? They have the makings to be pretty good late in the season.

Not to take anything away from Hicks, but it is a lot easier to coach when you are loaded with talent!!!!

I don't believe they will ever pick the right coach in some people's eyes. Someone will always have a complaint about whomever they pick.

Unsure where you get your info, but he is very dedicated to the programs. I can't respond as much on the softball side, but I don't recall very many days off on the basketball court though. Surprising comment. Do you know him?

Please explain. As a W'town fan, he seems to get a lot out of his players. IMO, he has 3 players that could play for other schools, but they continue to work and play hard all of the time. Maybe WV needs someone like.

Well said. If either Richey or Wilhoit were interested, they would take care of that.

The baggage I was refering to is some of the upperclassmen (and their parents) who think that just because they are a junior or senior, that they should be starting or playing the majority of the minutes. That could be a major distrction to the team in the next couple of years. I think if either was the coach at WV, they would put the best team on the floor, even if it meant cutting some of the upperclassmen.

Seems like to me, that the new coach should be able to determine who the JV and Freshmen coach are (at least have a say in the interview process).

Heard from a pretty reliable source Coach Richey is not interested in the job nor is Coach Wilhoit from Williamstown. Too much baggage seems to come with the program right now.

He does a good job with young players, but that is all he has had in the past. I think Cheesman's father would be a good fit. I think he is from there. He has developed her into a nice player. Does anyone know if he has applied?

With Dayton making it to the Regional, do they get a "cut" of the gate for being one of the 8 or is the gate money divided evenly among all of the other 9th region schools. For a small progam, the extra cash could be a benefit to the program.
