I am sorry I missed this one also. I seen Coach Wilhoit this morning and he was pretty happy for the girls, but his thoughts were already on Eminence to make sure his girls don't overlook them. Stith (21 points) and Knarr (10 points) led the way in scoring, but their defense was pretty solid for the whole game. Wilhoit led them in rebounding with 12.

Either it will add depth to their bench or it could cause the reverse and cause dissention to the chemistry. It will be interesting. Walton by 15+.

Free throws were the difference in the game. Gallatin went to the line around 40 times to Williamstown's 12-14 times. Very poor officiating, but that seems to be the commmon theme this year in the 8th region. The re-match on Wednesday should be very interesting in the 1st round of the All A.

Shooting was the difference in the game. Walton shot the ball extremely well and Williamstown couldn't thro it in the ocean. If the hot shooting continues for WV, they very well could win the All A. Their game against Carroll should be a good one.

She did do that when I seen her. She is a nice athlete.

Does she still fall down everytime she takes a shot? I watched her last year and when ever someone got close to her, down she went. At the varsity level, that would leave her team mates at a disadvantage due to the speed of the game.

If Williamstown stays out of foul trouble and Wilhoit, Stith and West get at least 28-30 minutes each in the game, I feel the game will go down to the wire. They may be small, but they play alot bigger than they are. A Williamstown upset will throw a wrench into the district seedings. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

#3 from Carroll really hurt Williamstown in the 2nd half. Foul trouble in the 2nd half also plagued Williamstown as they were trying to make a run. They must cut down on the number of silly turnovers, if they want to make a run in the All A. Congratulations to the Lady Panthers. Thier defense was really good.

Who was the player? Hate to hear anyone getting hurt.

Gallatin by 12+. Henry played well against them earlier and held on for the win. I don't see that happening again.

Williamstown over Gallatin and Eminence to reach the finals. Carroll over Walton, but Trimble pulls the upset over Carroll to reach the finals. Williamstown over Trimble as Wilhoit, West and Stith lead the Lady Demons to the title.

Why transfer at all then. Williamstown is pretty high academically (was 11th in the state this year on the CATS scoring, I believe) also, plus she played both varsity basketball and softball as a 6th grader. The kicker is the parents did not move. All I said was it was pretty coincidental. I never said anything about recruiting.

Sandlin played AAU softball on a team that is coached by Anderson. Her dad was an assistant coach for Williamstown, but resigned. A couple of weeks later, Sandlin was going to Walton. Pretty coincidental.

I think you can throw Williamstown into the mix as well in the 8th.

Williamstown had Tori Wilhoit foul out early in the 4th quarter. She is their second leading scorer and leading rebounder. I thought Williamstown's bench stepped up tonight for the team, especially on the defensive end. Junior Jaclyn Stith led the Lady Demons with 18 points (17 in the 2nd half) and 14 rebounds. She may be the best player in the 8th region that no one knows about. I think she is one of the top 10 players in the 8th. Freshmen Chelsea west and Tori Wilhoit chipped in with 17 and 10 respectfully.

Looks like an hour and 45 minutes for each game other than between the last game. That should help out.

Trimble size against Gallatin's defense. I think Gallatin will pull out a low scoring game 38-34.

Very few girls in the band that are on the team now. It is a whole lot easier to teach an athlete to play an instrument and march to the same spot than it is to teach someone to play the game of basketball. Just watching the band, there are very few girls who could suit up for the Lady Demons. There is a 8th grader in Susan Nortcutt thatcould develop into a nice player for them.

The band does add to the atmoshere to the games. I wish the Board office and the board would support the athletic department as much as they do for the band though. It is unbelievable what goes on there.

What happened in the Grant County/Villa game? I heard Grant had the lead most of the game.

Williamstown will win their 1st game of the year 65-59. Shots won't be falling for Walton on this night.

I agree, the officiating was not the best, especially for a district game. Th re-match at Williamstown should be a good one.

Final Grant Co. was up about 12 with 7:00 to go, but Williamstown made a run to tie it late. Grant Co. hit their free throws late to win the game. After the game, the PA announcer announced that Williamstown freshman forward Tori Wilhoit had recorded her 500th rebound. Congratulations to her.
