Unless the KHSAA comes up with a 2 team class 7A, I would say there is a 50/50 chance of a 5-peat. St X has a 50/50 chance of unseating them. IMVHO...There is a 90/10 chance of either one of these two being king for the forseeable future.

I am sure that the hosting team could find a dozen people to sell/take tickets and man the concession stand, even if their team might be in the playoffs in another city. The teams playing just have to show up. I can't imagine any high school, WITH TURF, not being able to to get things in order if they are given a week.

Some years back (mid 90's), there was an 8th grader with great potential attending a school that did not offer football. Because he wanted to play football, going into his freshman year, he basically had a choice to make between Campbell County and Highlands because they were pretty much the closest schools to his residence. Which would you choose for you or your child?

Doesn't seem that impossible...When you know who is playing, draw a line and pick a HIGH school WITH turf as close to in the middle as possible. Giving a school 7 days notice should be more than enough time to dust off the stands and open the locker rooms. Any interested school could let KHSAA know and they would just be on alert. If Highlands plays CovCath, play at Beechwood or Newport. If CovCath plays Whitley, play at LexCath. This could also mean some great double-headers, maybe played on Saturday, like Johnson Central/Highlands, Paintsville/Beechwood or any of the many others we could come up with. In general, the money wouldn't be that big of a deal either. The hosting team gets a buck, (charge $6 or $7 instead of $5 or $6) concessions and expenses. (i.e. security, clean up etc.) The teams split what is left over.

You mean like it is in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track, Volleyball, and Wrestling?:confused:

I would love to see rounds 3 & 4 be played at neutral sites as close as possible to a mid-point between the two teams. This would be very possible now that there are so many turf fields around the state. There is bound to be a high school between any two teams that could host a playoff game.

This question keeps coming up in regards to football...why? I can't think of another sport in KY (although I could be wrong) that does not let every team in the playoffs regardless of record. At least football restricts it some. A four seed played in the 6A championship game because they earned the right to be there while all of the 1's, 2's and 3's were at home. Should the 3's and 4's have been eliminated?

What is the big difference? That public schools don't have young kids pushing the older kids?
