In Rounds 4 of the Playoffs (and in Round 3 if = seeds meet) the home team is determined by alternating years. If you had your preference, would you prefer:

A - to be home/away for both games every other year; OR

B - to be home for 1 and away for 1 every year?

For me, I would prefer B. Quarterfinals and Semifinals on the road in back-to-back weeks makes things awfully difficult.

I would love to see rounds 3 & 4 be played at neutral sites as close as possible to a mid-point between the two teams. This would be very possible now that there are so many turf fields around the state. There is bound to be a high school between any two teams that could host a playoff game.

Ideally that is what we would all like; but, that is virtually impossible to coordinate.

After round two I like all playoff games to be at a neutral site as close too halfway in between the two schools who are playing.

It is one thing to simply have a neutral site already picked out before the season (for example WKU & EKU stadiums). But to simply select a stadium 7 days before a game is impossible to do.

They do a decent job here in Ohio with it.

Of course after round one all games are at a neutral site.

Are there preselected sites before the season?

I only know that schools let the O.H.S.A.A know they are interesting in hosting a game and then from there they try to get the best site.

I'm sure if you contact the O.H.S.A.A. they could tell you more.

Could be hard to get done but I agree.

Doesn't seem that impossible...When you know who is playing, draw a line and pick a HIGH school WITH turf as close to in the middle as possible. Giving a school 7 days notice should be more than enough time to dust off the stands and open the locker rooms. Any interested school could let KHSAA know and they would just be on alert.

If Highlands plays CovCath, play at Beechwood or Newport. If CovCath plays Whitley, play at LexCath.

This could also mean some great double-headers, maybe played on Saturday, like Johnson Central/Highlands, Paintsville/Beechwood or any of the many others we could come up with.

In general, the money wouldn't be that big of a deal either. The hosting team gets a buck, (charge $6 or $7 instead of $5 or $6) concessions and expenses. (i.e. security, clean up etc.) The teams split what is left over.

How do they coordinate that?

They are preselected based on capacity and convenience of travel

If this was instituted for Rounds 3 & 4, what schools would likely throw their name / fields in the hat to be on the list to select from? Obviously, those close to interstates, centrally located & with good booster support (concessions, gate, etc.) would be best candidates.

Don't see it ever working. Why LCC, Bwood or any school want to host a playoff game for other schools when chances are their team is still playing. Who would be the workers for the game? How would you split the gate. If 1 team had to travel 90 miles and the other 45 there would be complaints.

If it could be worked out to do it at college fields in regional areas on Friday and Saturday it could possible work. Not sure there is enough with turf.

WAY too much money would be lost for the two participating schools with a neutral site for rounds 3 and 4. A site like WKU which would probably host several of the neutral games costs $6,000 to rent. That's $3,000 per school to give up. Now way...money is the big factor here.

I think the way to get the best championship games is to seed the entire playoff system...this will not work because of travel but the semi-finals could be seeded and played on nuetral sites. Nuetral sites would probably not work so highest seed would be home team. If they are district winners then use our tiebreaker system. Take 8 wins from schedule and see how many wins those 8 teams have. Which ever team has most points is high seed and home. 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3
