Don't see it ever working. Why LCC, Bwood or any school want to host a playoff game for other schools when chances are their team is still playing. Who would be the workers for the game? How would you split the gate. If 1 team had to travel 90 miles and the other 45 there would be complaints.

If it could be worked out to do it at college fields in regional areas on Friday and Saturday it could possible work. Not sure there is enough with turf.

 

I agree with this, logistical nightmare IMO......what if say Boyle County and Bell County this year would have played at Henry Clay's field in the semi's, but Henry Clay would have been playing Trinity somwhere else the same night. Who works the concessions/gate/etc. at Henry Clay? Wouldn't all the usual Henry Clay supporters be at that game? Would Bell and Boyle's supporters have to try and bring food to supply a concession stand or just take a complete loss on concessions? These schools were just used as an example.

 

Also, no college fields in central KY have turf either, so if the state finals can't be held at UK or EKU, multiple high school playoff games in one day wouldn't work either...

I am sure that the hosting team could find a dozen people to sell/take tickets and man the concession stand, even if their team might be in the playoffs in another city. The teams playing just have to show up. I can't imagine any high school, WITH TURF, not being able to to get things in order if they are given a week.

If it is not associated with their school, a cost will be incurred in some way. I am not sure if there is some sort of a liability factor as well with it not being your own kids?

 

Turf may be prevalent in some parts of the state, but a lot more are still with conventional grass.
