  1. Has won everything but a National Title and you know you wouldn't bet against him to do it this year. But back to the point of the thread, Elliot Co. was very impressive in defeat today and hopefully we can all get a Saturday night matchup of Elliot Co. vs Holmes. Scott Co. might have something to say about that though.
  2. Not meaning any disrespect to any teams just saying nobody plays as hard as Elliot Co. I compare the way they play to Tyler Hansbrough, its a fact that he plays harder than anybody. Elliots core players are also seniors and you can't tell me that even though everybody wants it, your senior year you want it a little bit more. Just stating my opinion i could be wrong but again I think Elliot will cut the nets down in Rupp.
  3. This was the first time I had watched Elliot Co. this season and I was very impressed. They couldn't hit anything and still was only down 4 with about 2 minutes left in the game. This team they were playing was no joke and was very big inside. They did kill Elliot inside but Elliot actually out rebounded them 39 to 36. I know Elliot depends on the 3 point shot a lot but there will not be another game this season where they shoot 13% from the 3 point line. Some of it may of had to do with the other teams defense but Elliot simply missed shots they normally make and will make the majority of the time. I have seen Holmes play Scott Co. this season and I came away very impressed with Holmes. But I am going to predict right now that Elliot Co. will cut down the nets in Rupp, they simply just want it more than anybody. You have to love how they play the game and staying with a team that much bigger than them while shooting so bad was very very impressive. Enjoy it Sandy Hook these kind of teams don't come around often!
  4. I don't know how accurate this is but according to my eyes from the last row of Lex Cath he is about 5'11". And yeah i didn't get to see any of those 25 footers today, in my opinion I think the coach needs to let him loose a little bit more.
  5. Yeah good point. I just don't think he is use to playing with the team yet and vice versa. I do think he should be on the court though, maybe not at point all the time but there is a place for that shot on the court. He also seemed to put pretty good pressure on the ball on the other end. It will all work itself out though as they get use to playing with one another.
  6. Harrison is a growth spurt away from being a star. He is still good but if he grows a couple inches more he will be big time. Today he did over dribble at times but hes only a freshman. Has a really good shot but I didn't understand him not being in the game in the overtimes. It seemed like to me every time he shot the ball he got taken out of the game. I guess the coach knew what he was doing though as they came back to win. But boy do i look forward to watching him play in the upcoming years.
  7. I think I agree that Mason is taking care of business. They have only one lose and it was a nice effort against a 6A team. Prediction margins were much more broad than 10 points.
  8. I don't know where all of you all get the Royals are young. Yes their quarterback is a sophmore but about everywhere else on the field they aren't young at all. Inexperienced would probably be the word your looking for. I wont make a prediction either but I agree with what is said above Coach B will have the Royals ready!!
  9. Harrison county is having there usual Saturday filled slate, Pendleton plays Henry Clay and St.Patrick plays Harrison county. Also Deming plays Burgin, these are the games I could remember off the top of my head. I believe these games are on the 17th of November.
  10. What's happended over in Carlisle with the talent, it seems every year it just goes further down? Need to break back Daniel Brown and Brad Bussell to see if they have any eligibility left.
  11. That's my point exactly, without Salsman's contacts which he inherited from Danny Haney I just can't see this even going on much longer. It seems every year the event has slipped just a bit and you keep waiting for it to slip out of existance. To me it speakes volumes that the best team in the state is 40 miles north and Bourbon couldn't land them for this event.
  12. I think they will be Pendleton, Harrison and Deming's dream draw, enough said!
  13. How much life do you think this event has left? From all indications this was Salsmans deal but he has been gone for three years now back to Lexington Catholic and with all the coaching changes at Bourbon you would think this event would bite the dust.
  14. Kinda of a low blow with a two college teams playing at 11:45 in the morning sandwiched around high school teams.
  15. Mason county does a better job of developing talent than any of the above mentioned communites/counties, Tom Browning's Boys Club and the YMCA benefit the Royals tremendously. Also, having the best basketball facility in the state outside of a few colleges helps as well, it's just like Kentucky basketball you have to put a priority on winning to win and Mason county does that better than anybody. I've said for years Pendleton county should compete for regional titles more often because 1) size of the county, stretches from the Ohio River to I-75 2) fan support, the best best fans in the 10th, 3) have a proud basketball history that goes back to Falmouth, Butler and Morgan days. The recent success of Pendleton was probably due in large part to a group of parents with talented sons that had a goal to get to a state tournament, probably not so much of the school system helping other than getting the perfect coach for the group.
  16. The only way I see Buddy leaving Ashland is to follow the career path of his friend Kelly Wells and coach at the college level, before leaving Pendleton he showed interest in the Thomas More job in Northern Kentucky but either didn't get it or didn't want it in the end. Buddy Biggs is a great coach with his only knock being he stays set on his five starters and doesn't really deviate from the plan he has in place with that group.
  17. I think the Northern Kentucky private schools are all in compliance with transfer rules because of the strict predetermined standards set in place up there, I may be wrong but I think these standards even cross the river and include some Ohio schools.
  18. If Mason O'Hare is such a bad ball handler ask yourself this: who ran the team in the state tournament game against PRP when Mains was on the bench with two fouls in the first quarter? It was none other than Mason O'Hare who hit two three's from the top of the key against the PRP press and exited that quarter with a 20-12 lead. Also, if you remember when the Brossart district game got sticky Biggs put Mason running the point and Tyler sat on the bench for a stretch. I in no way want to take anything away from Tyler Mains, he was one of the toughest and smartest point guards I've seen play. I just want to point out Mason O'Hare was more than a one dimensional stand still shooter!
  19. Pat Elliott and Tyler Mains in no way made the contribution of Mason O'Hare or Joey Verax in 05, again we are referring to 05 and not 06. Matter of fact if it were not for Mason O'Hare Pendleton probably never gets to Rupp, if I remember correctly Keaton only had 5 points against Bourbon in the semifinal and Mason had to carry the load with his three point shooting to get them into the final. In my opinion Mason O'Hares 2005 tenth region tournament has to go down as one of the greatest "shooting the ball" performances outside of Lofton, in those three games he just didn't miss. As for the final Elliott had seven points compared to Belcher's 26, O'Hare's 15 and Verax's 11. I just don't think it's fair to Coach Biggs or Belcher, O'Hare, Verax, Mains, Elrod and Hampton to say Pat Elliott gave them a tenth region championship.
  20. Elliott was probably the fourth best player on the 05 team: 1)Keaton Belcher 2)Mason O'Hare 3)Joey Verax 4)Pat Elliott 5)and a close behind Elliott Tyler Mains. Elliott made a far greater impact on the 06 team than the 05
  21. It's comical how certain people think Pat Elliott's arrival in Falmouth handed Pendleton the 10th trophy in 05, with or without Elliott that team wins it that year. Forgetfullness tells us Kane Belcher, Terry Davis and Dustin Bishop sat the bench that year and would have been more than ready to fill the slot if Elliott wasn't on the team that year. The big impact Elliott would have had was if he had arrived in 04 which in my opinion would have caused a tightening between Pendleton county and a Chris Loften led Mason county.
  22. Mason County will be ready to play this week
  23. I think the top 3 has a bit of a shake up now..
