KCUKnight54 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Does Bourbon County host this tournament this year?
RA09 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Yes, but it isn't a tournament, it's a shootout. One game for each team. I know that Elliott County plays Christain County.
EthanKings#1fan Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 How much life do you think this event has left? From all indications this was Salsmans deal but he has been gone for three years now back to Lexington Catholic and with all the coaching changes at Bourbon you would think this event would bite the dust.
Jim Schue Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 How much life do you think this event has left? From all indications this was Salsmans deal but he has been gone for three years now back to Lexington Catholic and with all the coaching changes at Bourbon you would think this event would bite the dust. I've gone to this event the last few years, and it's been a quality event, with top teams from around the state and good out-of-state squads as well (Oak Hill).
Jim Schue Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 When is this Shootout? What teams play? Kentucky Bank Shootout The list appears incomplete, but it still has some of the better teams from around the state. Seven of those teams listed are threats to make it to the Sweet 16.
Jim Schue Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Which 7? Rose Hill Christian Co. Henry Clay Madison Cent. Tates Creek Elliott Co. J'Town
Ragoo Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I know Columbia High from Georgia is playing in it, The complete schedule was in Mike Fields Notes a couple weeks ago.
KCUKnight54 Posted November 5, 2007 Author Posted November 5, 2007 I seen that list, but in the past years there were more teams from out of the state, so maybe there has been a little bit of life taken out of this shootout.
EthanKings#1fan Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 That's my point exactly, without Salsman's contacts which he inherited from Danny Haney I just can't see this even going on much longer. It seems every year the event has slipped just a bit and you keep waiting for it to slip out of existance. To me it speakes volumes that the best team in the state is 40 miles north and Bourbon couldn't land them for this event.
Ms Liberty Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Maybe we need to bring the state together. East and West, and so on......

Scott County & Mason County is playing in Farm Bureau Classic in Pikeville on the same day as this classic ....
