1st round game from Beach Ball Classic tournament.

 

Elliott struggled from the field early, got hot late, but couldn't overcome the big guys in the paint for Cedar Hill.

 

Whenever Cedar Hill went inside, they had no problems, when they started throwing the ball all over the place, they struggled. Lions played great defense to keep them in the game, but the question once again is will this team struggle against big, physical teams if they make it to Rupp.

Elliott will win the KHSAA state championship this season (JMO of course).

I think Cedar Hill showed in this game that a team who has a solid inside game with a good big man will give EC fits because of their lack of height.

 

A lot of EC's success comes from outside. If they're not hitting, they are VERY beatable.

I know we want to keep the thread on THIS GAME, but the fact is, they are going to need a good draw to get to Saturday.

 

This game shows they deserve a top 10 spot in Kentucky, but I just don't know if they are top 3 yet. Key word being, yet, we are still in December. They won't get tested against until the All A tournament.

Key to this game was the inside game of Cedar Hill. They had more than one solid big man down low, which EC has yet to see this year.

Man...Talk about a good basketball team...Elliott Co...Showed me alot in this game...As bad as they shot from three land and still in the game in the last two minutes...

 

They did not miss those shots because of the Cedar Hill Defense...Those shots were open shots...

I for one am proud of my Lions . . . there were more students at Cedar Hill than little ol' Elliott has in their entire county!!!

They would have been easily beaten by several 7th region teams the way they played. And yes, I watched the whole game! Texas team kept throwing it away when they had the chance to put this one away early!

 

I will give the kids credit because they never quit even when the shots weren't falling.

This game was good for Elliott. It will make them better and get them prepared for Mason, Anderson and the Regional and hopefully the State Tournament. Sometimes a loss only makes a team better. Good job Elliott, proud of you guys for holding your own.

Come on guys ,I have watched and coached a lot of basketball and I can tell you that is a very good team from Texas.Elliott has nothing to worry about. They were cold and the Texas team was the better team today. Tomorrow is another day.That team will give any high school team a game. They are well coached.

I'd add Holmes, J'town, Manual, and Shelby Valley to that list as well...
