SK defeats Highlands in two. Great win for the Pioneers after a devastating day on Monday when head coach Julie Krift resigned. SK had three sophomores in the lineup playing in their first varsity matches. They performed wonderfully.

Okay, lets just say the best senior setter from a NKY non-parochial school. That should cover it. LOL

Any thoughts on this 1st of the season matchup. How will these teams fair against each other. I know a little about SK. They will be young this year. However, they return probably the best setter in NKY in Megan Dunn. She should help the younger girls receive great sets.

We have ac and practice has been going well. SK will be young this year but very talented.

SK was out coached! Sk had ball with 20 seconds left in regulation (tied) and failed to get the ball inside to Hurd!! They wound up settling for a desparation 3 from atop the key. Tied up and having to shoot a three for the win? You must go inside to your strength. 3 guys should have been setting a pick for Hurd down low. Congrats to OC. They out played and out hustled SK.

SK 56-51 in a tight one. Gallatin palying with a lot of heart and nothing to lose attitude. SK must step up but I think they will meet the challenge. Scary thought that probably the feel good pick, whom everyone (including the refs), would love to see Gallatin advance?

Congrats to the Rockets. Shelby played extremely well tonight. SK just could not match up with them. The young age of SK showed tonight. They looked real timid.

I like SK by 3 in only one overtime this go-around. Would you agree this could possbily be the best semi-final round matchup in the state this Friday?:dancingpa

Hope Friday's game is only half as exciting as the last meeting of triple overtime at SK.

does anyone know the remaining schedule for the 8th region? Just trying to plan my week. do monday winners play wed or thur or fri?

I give SK the edge in the regionals playing on a neutral floor at Henty Co. Big win for Shelby and everyone counted them down and out. That Shelby County name has haunted NKy for 28 years now. i.e Holmes in Championship.

I say SK will win by 5. They are still on Shelby's floor. Hurd should dominate. He must come to play in the BIG game and not get in foul trouble.

Big problem! Whomever wins the region gets region 11 in the first round of sweet sixteen. Scott County or Lex Catholic

Interesting 8 vs 9 Region in first round. Possible SK vs Boone or NDA

One firm candidate must be: Josh Hurd 6'8" senior from Simon Kenton He is currently leading the state in field goal percentage at 73.5%

SK, Shelby and Gallatin anybody else will just be showing to help gate attendance.
