Many clubs begin in March, so that the bball players can play. The only problem then becomes conflicts with aau bball. After discussing recruiting with a div. 1 coach recently, it was said that they only recruit at the qualifiers and very large club tournaments. They have not the time to attend any high school games because of their own season in progress and the level of competition not being nearly as tough at the high school match (for the most part). They can have all they want at a qualifier. So, if you were wanting your daughter to be recruited in volleyball, she had better be heavily involved in the club game and attending the big tournaments.

Do not know too much about these teams. I'm gonna go with Harrison County to win it all.

Revenge and oh boy was it revenge. You could see it in their eyes that they wanted it worse than SK. Intensity was in favor of Raiders all night. Congratulations Raiders. Only bright spot was SK freshman and JV both won in three.

Should be a big match tonight in Independence amongst two of the best public school teams in NKY. Ryle will be looking to revenge its three game loss on Saturday to SK (Bluegrass Invitational SK won 25-21, 12-25, 15-10). Can Simon Kenton do it again? Will Ryle avenge its loss? What do ya think? Ryle is currently 8-4 Simon Kenton is currently 15-7

Was this a misprint in the paper? Beechwood in two over Boone 25-3 25-17 Was Boone asleep the first game? Not so surprised that Beechwood won just the fact that they wallopped BC in the first game. Would have predicted a close three game match.

BBHS has had a pretty weak schedule thusfar. I think Walton Verona will give them a run on Thursday. But, hope they fair well and wish them the best of luck. Highlands will be a tough matchup also.

Surprisingly close match. Holy Cross, I agree, has a very scrappy talented team.

Rumor has it that she will be at the NDA match today. Show up and ask her cause everyone else is tight lipped.

Campbell seems to be real strong in the middle. Should be a very good match.

Rumor has it Boone Cty is pretty upset with their ranking in NKY top ten and are set out to prove themselves worthy. I know they have all played club together for several years and should be prepared. What does anyone else think?:mad:

I like Holy Cross in the upset. They are a well disciplined team. Most play club ball together. Plus, they already have one match under their belt vs. Calvary.

This match has been moved to St Agnes due to NDA not having AC. Hmmmm... Can SK catch NDA off guard in NDA's first match of the season and on a court that is not their home court? Doubt it. But, that is why they play 'em. This will be a good measure of how far this young SK team needs to get to compete on that parochial level that they want to reach. They are developing great young talent through their club, The Kenton Volleyball Club (The Roos). So, time will tell if they can reach the next level.

SK fell to a strong South Laurel team in pool play today 2-1. Then after defeating Rockcastle Cty (2-1) in the semis, they faced South Laurel in the championship for a rematch of earlier. After sitting out after battling a injury earlier in the day, setter Megan Dunn came back to try and lead the young Pioneers to victory. SL is a real nice team that had the SK number this weekend. SL 2-0 in final.:creepy: SK placed senior Megan Dunn and Sophmore Kathryn Smith on the All- Tourney Team.:ylsuper: At one point today, SK had five sophmores on the floor playing.

SK defeated Mercer Cty and Franklin Cty easily last night in two straight quick matches. This morning they face Casey Cty in what will be a walkover. However, at noon they face South Laurel. SL has two strong middles and a pretty solid team. It should be a good challenge for SK. GOOD LUCK PIONEERS!!

Saw on khsaa site where Rockcastle fell to Southwestern the other night. Was that expected? I thought I heard RC was the favorite in their region this year. Possible first match jitters? Can they bounce back?

Tourney is being held at Centre College this weekend. Any information on teams that are playing? I know Simon Kenton is now 2-0 entering this weekend off of wins against Ft. SK took the 1st and third games easily. Slacked the second game and was simply outplayed by LMHS. Next up for SK is a tourney this weekend at Centre College. Called I think the Central KY Classic.
