Great showing by Ryle after losing to Boone in the morning session. They lost to a quality Greenwood team. Greenwood is a tall and senior filled team that is very good. Probably the best in the west. Thought I saw Ryle winning in game three late but Greenwood must have come back. Simon Kenton had a quality showing at the tourney as well. They made it to the Silver Championship by defeating Boone in three games. Then only to fall to Lexington power Henry Clay for the second time on the weekend. Ironically, Ryle and Simon Kenton will meet Turesday night in Union. They did not meet at Lexington. However, Ryle fell to Boone and SK defeated Boone. So, it should be a interesting matchup.

What up? Campbell defeats Ryle (0-3) in three and Highlands needs three to defeat Dixie? Lloyd defeats Conner in two and Calvary falls to Simon Kenton (2-2) in two games.

Gotta disagree with 4-7 and go like this: 1. Newport Central Catholic 2. Notre Dame 3. St. Henry 4. Boone 5. Ryle 6. Scott 7. Highlands 8. Campbell County 9. Simon Kenton 10. Lloyd Boone gonna have a great year, very experienced. Scott beat CC finished silver at Apollo. Yeah, Highlands place 5th in gold but who had the easiest first round pools? I am not sure. Highlands fell to Logan Cty? Not sure I ever heard of them? Lloyd beat SK so almost a toss up, but confident SK should have the better overall club. They meet in first round of Sept Slam at Scott next month.

Beechwood girls gotta be pretty ticked off? Must have really been about the soccer program?

Tuesday, August 19, 2008 Bishop Brossart 2 at Newport 0 (25-11, 25-10) Scott 2 vs. Campbell County 0 (27-25, 25-23) Simon Kenton 2 vs. Dixie Heights 0 (25-17, 25-15) Looks like Scott still remains a strong top 10 ten and Campbell falls back a little. Probably keep SK at 10th for now.

Saw that Lloyd defeated Dixie last night. Lloyd has a scrappy quality team. Not top five but a sound 6-10 place team.

Enquirer, (newspaper) had the score (nda/sk) on the next page but not on the page with the "small blurbs" of results. I saw a couple guys with large cameras and assumed they were the paper, but, maybe not. We might as well get used to it.

SK had a middle out with a hand injury and their offense could not get rolling. However, hats off to Lloyd. They were well coached and very scrappy. They could surprise some teams. Agreed SK will need to prove themselves worthy and it will not start soon since they face NDA on Thursday at SK.

NDA squares off against Ryle tonight. I believe it is in Union. Can Ryle get one maybe two games and pull off a upset? Season opener for both teams.

You might want to check yourself on that SK not being Top 25. They have a talented team that has played together for the last 3 seasons as a club team. I think they will surprise alot of teams. Top 20 is a good place for them. They only have one senior but they should still be very good.

It was in the Sunday paper yesterday. Pretty weak article. Seemed like they did not have much room to fill it in with.

Watched Simon Kenton scrimmage Beechwood and Conner this week. They look to really play well together as a team. Next week they open at Lloyd and then have their home opener against NDA. Big test. I would put SK in as a stong top 4-5 in NKY.

Big win for HC! They seem to be coming on strong at the season end.? They also beat Boone recently. HC is a very scrappy defensive team that will deny the ball hitting the ground every time. Good Luck with the remainder of the season. Would it be fair to say St Henry is down this year yet? We know their schedule has been brutal, but they seem to not be as strong as recent years. I guess the regional will prove that theory. Good Luck St Henry and keep plugging away. It will come.

All you have to do is go to the link provided below to the Pioneer Region of USA Volleyball. Find a club near you, call the club director and inquire on what teams they have playing. If they have any starting later or possibly get 7-8 girls who wanna start later and play under a current club name or start your own club. It is pretty easy. A majority of the tourneys in the Pioneer region start in March and last through Memorial Day. Costs are kept to a minimum if you start your own club.
