Looks good to me right now . Hope it stays that way throughout the season .

Just looking at the scores from tonight's matches it looks like St. Henry gave Louisville Mercy Academy all they could handle...although they lost in 3, the scores indicate a close match against the top rated team in the state...27-25, 25-21, 25-22...watch out for the Crusaders!

I would place Highlands above Scott. They played in the same tournament last weekend at Apollo and Highlands finished 5th place in the gold division with Scott winning the silver division.

It looks like the early mover may be Lloyd. They are 7-0 and winners of the Ludlow Invitational.

There may be quite a bit of shuffling in spots 4-10 all year long. Boone has staked an early claim to the fourth spot. This weekend is the Bluegrass invitational including Boone, Ryle and Simon Kenton along with Henry Clay and Dunbar who should be a respectable challange.

Bishop Brossart 2 at Newport 0 (25-11, 25-10)

Scott 2 vs. Campbell County 0 (27-25, 25-23)

Simon Kenton 2 vs. Dixie Heights 0 (25-17, 25-15)

Looks like Scott still remains a strong top 10 ten and Campbell falls back a little. Probably keep SK at 10th for now.

Haven't seen everyone yet but I think there is a huge gap between NCC/NDA/St Henry and the rest of the area.

According to the KHSAA website NCC defeated LLoyd last night 2-0 , 25-10 , 25-17 .

Im going to go with...................

1. Newport Central Catholic

2. Notre Dame

3. St. Henry

4. Ryle

5. Highlands

6. Boone County

7. Scott

8. Campbell County

9. Simon Kenton

10. Lloyd

but I do agree that there is a quite a gap following NCC, Notre Dame and St Henry.

I forgot all about HOly Cross. I was going off the original top ten that was listed. Holy Cross will compete with SK, Lloyd, CCHS and Scott for one of those last three to four spots..............IMO

Gotta disagree with 4-7 and go like this:

1. Newport Central Catholic

2. Notre Dame

3. St. Henry

4. Boone

5. Ryle

6. Scott

7. Highlands

8. Campbell County

9. Simon Kenton

Boone gonna have a great year, very experienced. Scott beat CC finished silver at Apollo. Yeah, Highlands place 5th in gold but who had the easiest first round pools? I am not sure. Highlands fell to Logan Cty? Not sure I ever heard of them?

Lloyd beat SK so almost a toss up, but confident SK should have the better overall club. They meet in first round of Sept Slam at Scott next month.

I'll have to agree with vballcoach. Ryle also is very experienced and should be able to beat Boone Co. Guess we might find out in the Bluegrass Invitational this weekend.

Should be interesting....Highlands returns all 6 starters and beat Scott at least twice last year. They also meet in the first round of the September Slam. Should be an interesting year for 4-10...should see a lot of fluctuation
